Response: I"m not sure where you live, but in California, the quarantine is not over. Some things are opening up, but we have been asked to shelter in place until the end of the month. Until I see proof that virus cases are truly going DOWN and not up (1300 new cases reported in California today alone), I am going to stay quarantined!

Response: It's not as bad as you think. MUCH easier than some of the steeper hills in SF. I grew up 2 blocks from there.

Response: I met Judy Garland when she came to SF fo her Carnegie Hall tour. I sat in the Fairmont Hotel for 2 days waiting for her to check in. She was kind enough to give me her autograph. As for Carol Channing, she is a friend of a friend of mine. My friend was up for an award in LA. He and his partner came to the award ceremony with Carol and I sat at their table at the before party while she was greeted by her friends. A special night!

Response: Juan Ignacio lived with us for a short time when he had finished his medical residency. I didn't find out until years later that he had become the head of the hospital where Pinochet died. I saw videos of him giving updates to the press. Sadly, Juan Ignacio himself died a few years ago.

Response: It would be interesting to see it fictionalized though since there is no doubt about the criminal at the outset and throughout the book, it might take a very inventive mind to do it. It still is an interesting read, though--something about which I knew nothing before!

Response: If you do audio books, it's a great "listening" book because she sings, and you get that unmistakable voice telling her own story (but you probably get photos in a real book, so that's a consideration!)

Response: That's one thing I love about California--its diversity. I remember one Easter weekend when we camped in Death Valley in the high temps and then drove about 2-3 hours to Mammoth Mountain, where people were skiing. We were the only family there is shorts and flip flops!

Response: Catillate is one of those words I added to my vocabulary a couple of years ago after I heard it on the radio. The word I REALLY like isn't really a word, but a made up word on Addictoinary. It's strawphylactic, which is what you call that piece of paper that they leave on the end of straws when they serve you your drink. Isn't that a great word? I've been trying to soread it around!

Response: I got to see Hwa Mei shortly after she was allowed to go out on display, but we only got a few minutes to see her. It was MUCH better when we saw them in China, where they aren't the draw that they are in this country.

Response: I thin my favorite experience was one I had not imagined...we took a day long trip down the Li River, which has some amazing mountain peaks. It was not on our itinerary, but we got to do it because of taking an extension to Hong Kong.
