I like to swap postcards, packets of random paper/stickers/etc. Have done penpals, mail arts, ATCs, zines, assorted swaps all my life.
I have piles of vintage ephemera that I would like to find new homes for. Postcards (unused and written on), old photos, cancelled stamps from all over the world, pictures clipped from old magazines and books, Highlights mags from the 1950s, stickers, stationery, greeting cards, maps etc.
IF YOU WANT MORE PAPER: I have assembled business-size envelopes of pre-cut images (photos, illustrations, color, B&W) from old encyclopedias, textbooks, manuals, kids books, cookbooks, magazines, etc. A fun mini grab-bag, perfect for paper crafts -- I will send to you for FREE, just message me.
I read everybody's profile, and I really enjoy matching the perfect (or close to) card or whatever to people's likes.
I mail everything out within a day or two of the assignment, so if you don't ever receive something, please holler back. it's likely lost in the mail, and I AM HAPPY TO SEND A REPLACEMENT pronto. :)
I like: cats, I have a newish cat, a sweet black cat with huge gold eyes. I also like dogs; used to have two Chihuauas. My fantasy dog -- the one I love but will never own -- is the Irish wolfhound. Other animals I admire from afar are: meerkats, all big cats, octopus (living, not as a meal), jellyfish, small funny rodents (mice, rats, marmots). My favorite bird is the urban seagull.
I love googly eyes, Many things are improved with googly eyes added.
I love to watch TV, good or bad. I dig dramatic series like Game of Thrones, Westworld, The Americans,Fargo, Rectify. I like the make-something reality shows like Project Runway. I still watch the news every night; read (and talk) a lot about current affairs.
I worked for a long time at a newspaper, was an editor and film critic, but I have moved on. Sad times for print media ... now I work at a university, looking things up, which I quite enjoy.
My favorite sorts of movies are: thrillers, mysteries and documentaries about odd things.
I like to cook, and lean toward one-pot meals. I love sweets, with cake at the top of the list; see also: donuts, cookies. I am not allergic to anything.
My favorite colors are black, silver and pink, but I'm OK with the rest of the spectrum.Polka dots need a comeback; love polka dots. Stripes are also dandy.
I am happy receive any types of postcards, but I don't mind the oddball or strange ones, if you need to clear those out of your pile. I'm not offended by anything.
random things I like:
the ocean * saguaro cactus * pine trees * the Southwest * sewing * knitting * making weird things out of plastic canvas * making pinback buttons * old houses * bridges * buses * funny cat videos * making silly things out of felt *mountains * walking in the city * taking photos of odd things found on the street * hiking in country * road trips * ice cream * vintage fabric of all sorts * buses
