Update 6/22/2024 Life has gotten crazy again and I will be mostly taking the Summer off from swapping. Hope to be back soon. Have a great Summer everyone!***
*** Update 1/5/23*** I ended up taking a much longer break from swapping than I anticipated, but I am back and ready to swap! 2022 was a challenging year and I am happy to see the back of it. Ready to start having snail mail fun again :)
I live in the beautiful San Diego, CA area. My favorite things are my husband, my cats, postage stamp and postcard collecting. My main postcard focus is cards with cats on them, but I love to get mail and I appreciate any kind of postcard as long as it is in good condition. Tell me why you picked the card or the story behind it- I love hearing the stories. My favorite colors are purple and blue, and I love anything animal print!
I do not drink coffee or tea, and I do not wear cosmetics. I do like lip balm and lip gloss, and anything coconut or rose scented. I have a nickel allergy so I do not appreciate jewelry of any kind. I do collect the smashed pennies on a small scale as well. I enjoy stickers and cute note cards.
I love just about any kind of music other than Rap or Heavy Metal. I have very eclectic tastes- I have over 18K songs on my iPod and that is everything from popular top 40 to show tunes to classic rock! I grew up listening to Country and Oldies (50's & 60's) and still do. I am a big fan of 80's popular music as well. My absolute favorites are Michael Jackson and Buddy Holly.
I am a HUGE reader. I can remember being a small child sitting on the sofa next to my mother with us both reading our own book! So I am a life time reader and am never without a book (or 2, or 3...). My favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Linwood Barclay. I also enjoy Fern Michaels, Danielle Steele, etc. I do read a lot of non-fiction as well. I enjoy biographies, true crime, and nature or history and more. I will pretty much read anything, but I do not really care for much science fiction or true westerns. I also don't read much that has been translated from another language to English, the syntax if often wrong and I just don't enjoy it. I usually have 2-3 books going at once :)
My all time TV favorite is I love Lucy. She was such a genius I could watch her all day and never get bored. Other classics I like are Little House on the Prairie, Dallas, M.A.S.H., The Brady Bunch, and the list goes on! My current favorite show is A Discovery of Witches. An awesome love story with a thriller/mystery all in one. I also watch Very Scary People, The Blacklist, Big Bang Theory and Supernatural. I also watch a lot of Nat Geo Wild and Discovery, and am really interested in true medical stories like Emergency: Life in the E.R., Mystery Diagnosis, and vet shows like Dr. Pol and Alaska Vet Dr.Dee.. I do not watch any sports, westerns, or Kung-Fu/martial arts type movies or ANY current MTV programming. I HATE most reality shows they are just awful. What people will do on camera for money never ceases to amaze me.
I am not very crafty. I think they skipped me when handing out creativity! I can't even really draw stick figures. That being said, I do occasionally do some sewing, and I do like to do Latch Hook sometimes. I am currently doing a small kitty cat wall hanging- we'll see how long it takes! Update- had to give up on the latch hook. Tendonitis in my fingers makes it too painful now. Oh well more time for other pursuits! I do not care to do any kind of needle crafts as I have shaky hands. I am interested in paper crafts like collage, envelope making, stamping etc and hope to maybe give some of those a try someday. I am open to trying new crafts.
Anything cats-Big cats, little cats, tigers or tabbies I love them all! Your local scenery or attractions Birds, butterflies, and flowers Vintage or vintage inspired Any animals- From aardvarks to zebras I love them all. Marilyn Monroe, Elvis & The Beatles.
I like ad/free cards if they relate to my interests in some way or are particularly beautiful or unusual. I do not rate down for ad/free cards if they fit my interests so feel free to send them to me even if the swap says no ad cards.
I prefer my PC's sent naked unless the swap specifies otherwise. If the swap calls for them in an envelope please send them that way- I use these for trading if outside my interest areas. Thank you!
Please do not draw on or add anything to the front of the store bought PC's you send. It kind of ruins it for me and I will just throw them away.
Otherwise anything you send is a gift and I would love to receive it. Happy swapping everyone!
I am a stamp collector. If you have recent stamps from your country please use them if you can. This is the way I usually add to my collection- the stamps I get off of my own mail. I ALWAYS need postage stamps. If you have any mint or used USA that you can spare I promise I will put it to good use! Extra envelopes Stickers Extra Postcards of any kind Washi (or any other pretty) tape Thank you! Anything sent will be appreciated, and maybe I can send something from your want list. This hobby can get expensive, but it sure is fun!
I get free greeting cards at work sometimes, and I often buy cards I find pretty or interesting at thrift stores. So you may get your PC's in a birthday or get better soon card. Ignore the sentiment if you wish or if it does not apply, and I hope you like the front of the card :)
I often cut out interesting photos from magazines, usually animals, B&W or interesting patterns- and I save cute used post its, tickets, business cards, beer coasters etc. I am not a scrapbooker or art journaler or collager but I will often weed out my stash and send some to people I trade with as bonuses If I see that you enjoy those things. If you are interested in a private trade let me know- I usually will trade for postcards or stickers. Sometimes I have a lot, sometimes I have a little you know how it goes!
I LOVE T- shirts. I have too many to fit in the drawer but still want more more more LOL. I wear a mens (or unisex) large. I prefer this over ladies cut, but in a ladies cut I am at least an XL. Themes I like are anything 1980's related, cats of any kind, wildlife, The Mountain (brand of tees), vintage sports and colleges, The Walking Dead, Supernatural, music and movies pop culture etc. Any color is fine I am not picky about that. I look forward to joining more t-shirt swaps:)
Please do not send Registered Mail unless it is an absolute must. I work 8-5 every day and that is the same hours that the Post Office is open. Also I work in another city. I can't leave work early to go sign for PC's at the Post Office as I am sure you all understand :) So If I can't make it on the 4 hours the Post Office is open on Saturday to sign for it, then it will be sent back to you. Which is just a bummer all around. So no Registered Mail please! Thank you for your consideration on this issue.

Hi Dawna. Just letting you know that I dropped the re-send postcard for FPRU: Print Your Own Postcard - Theme: Animal in the mailbox yesterday so it's on its way. Hopefully, it will get there by the end of next week. I hope you like it. :)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!π»
So I totally just realized my mistake! What I thought was a bonus cat postcard is an actual notecard that opens with your note telling me what swap it was!! It's ok to laugh at me... I'm such a dingbat sometimes π€£ thank you for the postcards!
