Comment: Such nice things, as always! Very nicely packaged. My first sales were all after posting some pictures of my notebooks on a Facebook group page. Nothing since then has sold, tho. I guess it is important to keep actively promoting my shop. I am working next on putting some items up on the FPGeeks classifieds - just as soon as I can figure out if they have any rules about how to do it.

Comment: Hi Su, That was an absolutely gorgeous self-mailer! I love the use of the stamp paper so that the real stamps just blend in to the overall pattern. And thank you for the Mail Art Mini -- it did indeed arrive safely and I'm really pleased to have the instructions for your tanglelope.
Response: So relieved the contents arrived safely as well as the tangelope! Also, my husband said I had made it too difficult for the post-people to distinguish the postage from the printed stamps, so I'm happy to be able to prove him wrong! ;)

Response: Aw, really glad that you like it so much! I use an open source, freeware program called Apache Open Office Draw (available to download free here: http://www.openoffice.org/). If you download the program, I have a basic mini zine template I can share with you (inc. a few tips!) - just ask. :)

Comment: I love the front of this postcard! Where so you get all those wonderful stamps? I have been swapping here for two years and I don't get them from very many countries. Anyway, I hope you don't mind that I don't want to cut this in half to make two bookmarks, I'll just use it the size it is =)
Response: Aw, I'm really glad you like it so much! The stamps are vintage ones, so you're unlikely to get very many similar on swaps! ;) (I seek them out on ebay etc.) And don't worry, the postcard is still interactive (or at least dual-function!) if you use it is a bookmark, whether you have cut it first, or not. :)

Comment: Thanks, Su! Got the magic pipe today - so lovely - and wonderfully unique. Loved the notgeld images (presumably meaning Gold Note). I love when I hear about "new" ways that illustration have played a part in history. And even though they only used three colours, they packed quite a lot of design into it. A lesson for all of us artists. :)
Response: Glad the package arrived safely & that you enjoyed it. :) Geld is german for money (notgeld - according to Google translate - translates literally as not-money, presumably because it was used instead of 'real' money). But yes, geld does also mean gold. I couldn't believe it when I stumbled across the designs, as they are so well done, yet I hadn't seen them at all previously through all of my Pied Piper research (I've done quite a lot lately!). Happy to share. :)

Comment: I love receiving TangleMail!! Autumn is my favorite season too. I love the stamps, the stamp booklet, and the "envie-letter" (letter folded into an envelope). I just got a book from the library about styles/techniques of making such letter folds - and then I received one in the mail!

It was definitely a challenge for me, finding a way to 'frame' the letter, without my usual accessories to hand - but once I found that awesome 70s book, it all came together. Even the Post Office lady was fascinated by the envelope (hope the postage label didn't ruin the aesthetics - I forgot to ask for stamps! :( ).

I downloaded a postcard sized loom from your page a while ago. I haven't done anything with it yet, but I love love love the idea of it. Response: Glad you like it :-). I think the paper I used for this one was sugar paper (you might know it as construction paper). The Earth Day zine was on a recycled paper embedded with lavender. I always use recycled paper, but I don't like the bland 'crisp white' recycled paper you can get now, and try to avoid it for smaller projects.

Response: Yay, that arrived really quickly! And I'm happy it didn't get tangled up in the machines en route :-D (fingers crossed yours survives likewise!). The stitch is just basic backstitch, then I've whip-stitched back through the surface loops, to give the raised & tweeded appearance - very easy!

Comment: From the earth-tone decorated envelope that I opened incredibly gingerly, to the little notecard of faux postage, this was a very special package indeed. The zine itself (printed on mulberry paper, I noted immediately) was as magical as anyone could have wanted, and my daughter listened wide-eyed as I read her the story of the TangleFolk... the two of us will have to plant those mulberry seeds together under a full moon now!

Response: Glad you like it! I had the idea in my head for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity to get it on paper. I only thought of including the envelope instructions at the last minute, so I'm glad you like that, too :-)
