If you're sending me anything larger than a letter in a regular envelope FROM OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION, please use a customs form to declare the contents and value of your shipment! If you don't do this and it gets held up at customs, I will have to guess who it's from and what's in it when I fill out a bunch of forms in order to receive the package, which I'd rather not do because I don't want to get in trouble for accidental tax evasion lol. I know some countries consider anything sent in an envelope a "letter" and anything larger than that a "package", but for me (and I assume the rest of the EU), whether or not I need to pay import taxes depends on the contents, not the size of the shipment. Please help me avoid becoming a tax evader! ๐Ÿคฃ

โ‡ข I only host swaps for which I'm willing to angel for a swapper, should someone flake on their partner.

โ‡ข Not all my swaps allow newbies with no ratings to join them. If you're a total newbie, or an established swapper with a wrinkle in your rating, and therefore don't meet the rating requirement of the swap, feel free to message me! I'll gladly do the same swap privately with you. :^)

โ‡ข Speaking of rating requirements: no matter how much you beg and plead, the rating requirements in my swaps will not budge. At all. Ever.

โ‡ข I always send my swaps on time, and I mark them as "Sent" on the day I've paid for the stamps at the post office - if i'm there any later than 5pm, they might get stamped with the next day's date, though. If I'm ever late with a swap, I will let you know beforehand!

โ‡ข Similarly, giving me a 1 with no prior communication and/or when I haven't had the chance to offer to resend the swap says more about you than it says about me.

Hiya! I'm Neea. I'm a Finnish les๐Ÿan in her 30s, a Sagittarius, extremely single and on all levels except physical I am a cat lady. The only thing I'm missing are the cats. Now that I think about it, I'm also not very ladylike... I might have to rethink the whole cat lady thing.

I'm a textile artist by training, meaning that I craft all sorts of things out of textile materials - fabric, wool, needle and thread, all things yarn-y. I like to sew, knit, crochet and weave all sorts of things like tapestries, rugs, blankets, scarves... and I hecking love embroidery, both "old school" granny style cross stitch stuff, and the modern kind that the crafty side of instagram does. Recently I've started learning how to sew my own clothes, so if you have any sewing patterns you no longer need, I will gladly look after them! My favourite fashion styles range from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. I do love me some shoulder pads - and mail order catalogues.

I'm also super into spinning yarn myself! I told myself I would no longer buy yarn because I have too much, but that turned into buying too much wool for spinning my own yarn and now I'm back to square one with the whole "I have too much XYZ so I need to stop buying XYZ" thing.

Besides textile and fibre related things, my hobbies include paper crafts, drawing, reading, writing, snail mailing, enjoying nature, traveling, road trips and learning about different cultures and languages. When I have the time and patience, I digitally draw things on my drawing tablet. โญ

I read mostly non-fiction of all sorts, memoirs and biographies, gay romance, historical fiction and a rather worrisome amount of fan fiction. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I also tend to re-read my favourites from my teenage years again and again and again... even if they've aged like eggs and milk rather than fine wine.

I also like poetry! I'm hesitant to call myself a poet yet, but I do write some myself. My secret dream is to publish a whole book(let) of them! Maybe one day... in the meantime, do share your favourites with me! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฅฐ

I love learning foreign languages. I'm currently learning Korean while trying not to forget my Latvian and everything else.

I've had people both in real life and online tell me that I gave them a very intimidating first impression, but that later they realised that I'm just... a socially challenged marshmallow. ๐Ÿ˜ณ I promise I'm nice. ๐Ÿฅบ I'm only unpleasant on purpose when things get political and this is not the place for that. ๐Ÿ˜‚

CRAFTS:

I LOVE YARN. ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿงถ Please send me all kinds of fun yarn. Pastel colours are great. If it sparkles somehow, I guarantee I will love it. However, I absolutely hate acrylic, polyester and superwash anything, so please avoid those. Cotton, linen, bamboo and other plant/cellulose based yarns are great, but what I really love is wool. Any and all kinds. Well, perhaps not the cheapest possible supermarket brand sock yarn. But any good quality wool - merino, mohair, cashmere, blends, your local breed of sheep - in pretty much any weight will do. I also like yarn with some silk in it!

I LOVE WOOL. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ In fact I might be a bit wool crazy - where most knitters have an incredible amount of yarn, I have an embarrassingly large wool top hoard that I use for spinning yarn and occasionally felting. Feel free to send me wool tops/rolags in any of my favourite colours, hehe.

Embroidery thread, quilt kits and fabric scraps are awesome. Feel free to dump all your leftovers in my mailbox.

Snail mail supplies: letter sets, letter paper, envelopes, postcards, address labels, stickers, sticky notes, note pads, washi tape...

Gel and glitter pens in fun colours! โœจ๐Ÿ–โœจ

Glanzbilder or kiiltokuvat or whatever those are in English. These are not the same as whatever people call "die cuts" - I think googling "Victorian scrapbooking" or "German scraps" will give you the right idea.

Patterned craft paper, origami paper, book pages and pretty much anything I can use in paper crafts. Even things like newspaper clippings in different languages! ๐Ÿ“ฐ

Rubber stamps, clear stamps, stamped pieces of paper.

ART:

Surrealism, symbolism, romanticism and impressionism are some of my favourite art styles - basically anything from the 1800s. Also female portraits in any style. I love the art of Georgia O'Keeffe, Amrita Sher-Gil, Artemisia Gentileschi, Janis Rozentฤls, John Singer Sargent, John William Waterhouse, Gustav Klimt, Alphonse Mucha, Claude Monet, Rudolf Koivu, Akseli Gallen-Kallela...

Alt text

Folk art and indigenous art, textiles and photography!

Kids' art! I've received some kids' drawings in swaps where a drawing or a sketch is required, and I love it. Especially if it's something weird or random.

MUSIC:

Mostly female fronted rock bands from pop-rock to heavy metal, female singer-songwriters, female pop singers and folk musicians. Also some rap and hiphop. There are some men here and there (see: kpop list below) but mostly I'm just here for the ladies. Here are some artists on my Spotify playlists: Alanis Morissette, Alice In Chains, Angel Haze, Arch Enemy, BEHM, The Birthday Massacre, Britney Spears, Cardi B, Cรฉline Dion, Dolly Parton, Erja Lyytinen, Florence + The Machine, Halestorm, Halsey, Heart, Hedningarna, In This Moment, Jenni Vartiainen, Kikka, Mariah Carey, Megan Thee Stallion, Poppy, Reba McEntire, Roxette, Sade, Shania Twain, Spiritbox, Tori Amos, Vรคrttinรค, Warlock and Whitney Houston.

Feel free to recommend me music you think I might like! I'm looking for more metal bands with female singers, the angrier the better hahaha.

KPOP:

  • BTS (Yoongi & Jimin โ™ก)
  • B.A.P
  • KARD
  • WOODZ
  • Ash-B
  • Hyuna
  • Wonder Girls
  • 4Minute
  • KARA
  • Monsta X
  • Shinee
  • DBSK
  • BoA
  • Mamamoo
  • Chungha
  • H.O.T
  • Shinhwa
  • 1TYM

I listen to a lot of different genres of kpop, but I only really keep up with what BTS is doing. If you ask me how many members EXO has left or who's who in LOONA, I would have to google it, lmao. The only kind of kpop I don't really like is annoying/cutesy girl group songs and ballads that bore me to death.

TEA & COFFEE

Yes please: I drink mostly black tea, I like most flavours I've come across. Chai, cinnamon, spicy teas, peach, orange, mango, honey, herbs, Christmas-y flavour combinations, vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, breakfast teas, Earl and Lady Grey... pretty much anything goes. Rooibos is also nice. Recently I've got into those flavoured instant coffee portion bags - I'll drink anything with hazelnut, vanilla, caramel and other delicious things!

Some tea brands I like: TAZO, Pickwick, Stash, Bigelow, Pukka, Twinings, Harney & Sons, Yogi Tea, Teekanne... I'll try anything I can't get in Finland!

Absolutely not: green tea, hibiscus, chamomile, rosehip, passion fruit

EDIBLE THINGS:

I looove chocolate with bits in it. Doesn't matter what it is, nuts or berries, gooey caramel or something else entirely. Rum or punch? Bits of peppermint candy or liquorice? Sea salt and caramel? Heck yes. If you can get me a shipping container's worth of those coconut Ferrero Rochers, I will love you five-ever.

Crackers and cookies? Yes please. I love things I can dunk in coffee or drown in hummus and guacamole.

I love nuts and dried berries and other healthier snack options. Even if/especially when they're covered in chocolate, hahaha. I also like seaweed snacks!

I LOVE LIQUORICE. Any colour, sweet or salty (but I do prefer the salty kind).

I don't eat a lot of gummy candies, but I love Haribo's peach candies. Those are sooo good.

Favourite candy and chocolate brands: Brunberg, Panda, Halva, Laima, Kalev, Fazer, Marabou, Ferrero, Vego, J. D. Gross, whatever brand makes those round Mozart things.

ALLERGIES & DISLIKES

Too much dairy will make my insides explode. A little bit won't hurt, and I will definitely still try whatever treats you send me, but dairy free things are very much appreciated!

I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years (and fully vegan for some of it), so consuming too much animal products does not... end well. I have started to slowly reintroduce seafood into my diet because of Reasonsโ„ข - mostly convenience - so, shrimp flavoured crackers: yes please. Beef jerky: no thank you.

I really, really don't like sour candies.

Hate is a strong word, but it's still not strong enough to accurately describe how much I flipping hate passion fruit.

โŒ ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’” ๐‘ฐ ๐’…๐’๐’'๐’• ๐’๐’Š๐’Œ๐’† โŒ

Items related to Thanksgiving, Halloween, 4th of July and other American holidays.

People who misspell my name, or people who straight up give me a new name because they've never seen my name before so clearly it can't be a real name. เฒ _เฒ  No, my name is not Neena, Neera, Negra, Neaa, Nea, Nena, Nene, or Naea. If you're literate enough to navigate this website, I expect you to be able to write four letters in the order they're supposed to be written in.

MINIONS. Get those yellow demons away from me. ๐Ÿ‘น

Most geeky stuff, such as video games, superheroes, Marvel, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Stranger Things, LOTR, D&D and so on. I'm, like, super not into it. Anything related to these will just be regifted to nerds I know. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Cosmetic products. I don't mind sheet face masks or chapsticks, but all sorts of wrinkle cream or lotion samples are just wasted on me.

Faux progressive politics. Don't be so open minded that you let your brain fall out.

...speaking of which: I'm a feminist but I have no use for embarrassing "Smash the patriarchy!! [picture of a fist with manicured nails]" or "Feminism is for everyone!" or "Feminists are cool!" or "Blarhgf blahrgrg the radical notion that women blahblaghfhgd" stickers and such. Miss me with that free-the-nipple nonsense. ๐Ÿ™„ I'm a hairy, unladylike lesbian who has no patience for fun, watered-down and non-threatening "hobby feminism" that requires no critical thinking whatsoever and includes, coddles and/or makes excuses for men, and my activism reflects that.

Homophobes can also heck right off. ๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿป

If you call me q---r I will consider it hate speech and report you. Don't send me stuff with that word in/on it. The same goes for the b word, the c word and any other nasty word that a nasty person might use to describe me. I have not "reclaimed" any of them.
