I made my first quilt when my daughter was young, so I guess I have been quilting for almost 15 years. I have gotten more serious about it in the past 5 years, actually finishing many projects! I made the quilt for our church's fall fair (fundraiser) that was auctioned off in 2011, among many others.
I work full time, am married and have 2 children (13 yrs and 16 yrs) so I don't always have as much time as I would like to sew. My family is very accommodating for my craft - I do have one entire bedroom dedicated as "the sewing room". I spend a lot of time in there, and the family just crowds on in! My mother was a quilter and had collected quite a stash of fabric, templates, patterns and notions. I now have her things at my house as she passed away in Aug of 2009. Having her things makes me feel closer to her, although I wish she was here with me. I don't know that I can ever use all the fabric she had, nor will my daughter! I try not to buy new fabric/patterns now, although sometimes I just can't help it...
I love to read - especially historical fiction. Audio books are great when quilting so I can do 2 things at a time!
I enjoy working with batiks especially, but can usually find a use for most anything. I tend to make a lot of scrappy quilts since I am using a big stash - I mix/match a lot. I am not doing a lot with novelty fabrics these days, or homespuns. Favorite colors - greens, blues, purples, and pinks usually! I am always looking for new ideas for projects to add to my ever growing list.
I have done some scrapbooking, although not for awhile. I also enjoy cross stitching and have knitted a little. Too much to do, too little time!
I don't care for scented items (no cigarette/ perfume/smelly cards) but a little dog/cat hair doesn't bother me! (I have 1 dog and 3 helper cats at home).
Thanks - I always enjoy what other people choose to swap. I try to make your swap worthwhile as well.

Thank you for your nice comments! I have a Bernina 180 which sews and does embroidery. I found the embroidery pattern and loved it. They are fun to make and I can vary it with different fabrics. Glad you liked it!
THANK YOU so much for the ADORABLE owl. I will definitely use her to hold my scissors. What type of machine do you have that allows you to create such wonderful pieces of work?
