Just to let you know that I am taking time out from swapping as life is just to busy at the moment, hence why I have left the groups i am part of (not great getting sms messages in the middle of the night courtesy of my new blackberry). I may be back but am not sure when.
Hi, I'm a mum of two, married to a lovely fireman and staying in bonnie scotland. I love all things handmade (just because someone has taken the time to do them). I love the seasons and the seaside(especially in winter). I collect driftwood, pebbles and shells and always have a stripey sock with me to hold my finds. I have a passion for earthenware pottery, particulary jugs althougth every piece I have is useable not just for show. I'm mad about beach-huts and bunting and I love buttons as well. I would love a blue and white camper van but my children would be disgraced. I can spend hours in a fabric or wool shop and adore haberdashery as well. Id like to think my style is shabby chic, well worn and comfy.
I love traditional and folk music (both scottish and irish). U2, James Blunt, Meatloaf , Christy Moore, Coldplay,The Drifters to name a few. I don't care for jazz or brass band.
Anything by Jane Austin, All Arts and Crafts books, Little Women, The Friday Night Knitting Club, Anything by Patricia Scanlan, Cecilia Ahern or other light fiction.
Knitting, sewing, cross stitch, just learning felting, making fabric pictures, in fact anything fabric related. Making things in general. I also love buttons and clay.
I love washed out/bleached colours. The colours of the sea and the sky and pebbles on the beach. Greens and mulberry and muted reds. Sunny colours as well, but not neon. I love slate (the colour and texture). Faded florals, particularly small print or anything that could qualify as shabby chic.
Chocolate, baking, arts and crafts with my children, walking on the beach( especially in winter), renovating my house and garden. Trips to Ireland where lots of my family live. Being cosy with a book to hand and a big mug of piping hot tea. Knitting, sewing. Fabric. Ribbons and trims, particularly lace and vevet.
Coffee, liquorice, alcohol. Violent films. Jazz music. Movie merchandise(disney etc).Postcards of "cute" animals.
Fabric or fabric scraps(for small patchwork projects). Sea tumbled glass. Earthenware pottery. Fabric landscapes. Anything with stained glass. Baskets (any sort). Unusual pebbles(especially lovehearts). Anything sea related, beach huts, boats, seagulls. Campervans( material/cards/postcards). Handmade soap, candles. Tote/book bags. Necklaces (wooden/glass/silver - greens and blues(all shades).Bright postcards(not tourist ones). Chickens/Cows (postcards/prints/fabric etc). Ribbons, particularly velvet or wired, but any really, bright buttons, notebooks or journals.
