I'm a realtor/investor who moved to Baltimore during the last year. I've lived out West most of my life, so it's fun getting reacquainted with the East Coast.
Here are a few details about my hobbies:
Cross Stitching--I started when I was a kid, so this is my longest-standing hobby. I tend to work on multiple projects at a time, and it doesn't bother me at all to have them unfinished because I know I will eventually (and I do!). My preference is large, detailed patterns for wall hangings. After spending hundreds of hours on something, I want it to be well-preserved!
Crocheting--I know how, and I do enjoy it, but I've never finished anything bigger than a potholder. However, I'm interested in creating swaps for granny squares to make pieced afghans.
Writing to Penpals--I started writing to penpals in 3rd grade, and I've loved sending and receiving mail ever since. In case you're wondering, I DO write to inmates in prison, so feel free to ask me about it if you're curious.
Blogging--I started a blog about vegetables, of all things. Please feel free to check out my 50VegetableChallenge.com for the whole story, but I basically wanted to expand my food horizons. I do also have a blog about real estate at my Realtor website above.
Scrapbooking--I started scrapbooking after college, and I treasure every completed page. I'm not the type to feel compelled to "keep up," so I might make one page with current photos and the next one might be something from 10 years ago. I firmly believe in following your inspiration when it strikes.
Cooking--I really enjoy trying new recipes (which was part of the motivation for starting my blog). I make great chili, fried rice, and blueberry muffins, but I could always use new ideas for dinner!
Quilting--I just took up quilting a few years ago to have a hobby in common with my mom, and I'm really loving it. I think I have at least 5 quilts in the works, but I recently finished my first queen-size one. I feel so accomplished! I like bright colors and modern patterns. However, I'm also working on a scrap quilt that will be perfect for swapping blocks.
I have one adopted son, and I hope to foster/adopt more teenagers in the future. Please feel free to reach out to me if you're curious about my experience.
I am very social and like to organize parties, game nights, potlucks, and any event that brings cool people together. My favorite thing is introducing someone to his or her new favorite thing or person. New projects on the horizon are learning ASL, trying gardening (now that I live in a climate that supports it), and exploring more of my new home town.
