PLEASE READ: I send out all of my swaps as soon possible, often times the very day that partners are assigned. If for some reason you do not get my package, please contact me! I also rate EVERY swap as soon as get the package or email.
I am so fortunate that God has provided a way for me to work from home with my husband! We have 2 active internet based businesses, with 1 on hold for later. My husband and I live in a small country town along with my 3 step-kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats :)
In my spare time I love to read, watch tv, go for walks, work in the garden, create new confections/candy, surf the internet, cook and bake. And one day I'll pick up cross stitching again, which is really my favorite "crafty" thing to do. Oh, and do spend a lot of time trying to find ways to save money, many times out of necessity, but also because I find it a fun challenge...almost like a sport ;)
I'm pretty much a homebody and introvert and usually splurge just on my kids and hubby, so the swapping is something just for ME! I love pretty items, though I don't use them much, so I more so collect things.
As far as crafting goes, I've tried a few different things but mostly do paper crafts (more like paper folding, handmade envies, matchboxes, stamping), hand sewing small/easy items, simple jewelry making, papering/decorating boxes (like the wood boxes from the craft store for jewelry and trinkets), and making friendship bracelets. I also love cross stitching!
Also, if you consider baking and candy making a craft, then that is definitely my strong suit! So much so that one day I plan on opening a little corner bakery/candy shop, when the kids are grown and out of the house. I like finding new recipes and putting a new twist on them, also making up my own creations.
Oh, and I like cooking too, guess I just like to be in the kitchen and I do love to eat....haha
I also just started gardening and really enjoy it!
-tea
-small paper scraps or small collage cut outs-I just don't use them. But if it is bigger then 4x4 and is a print/patterned sheet of paper then send it over!
-anything offensive or beyond PG-13 stuff (my kids like to help me open my packages to see what I got!)
-girly bath products or anything too heavily or distinctly scented (certain scents cause me headaches)
-anything that smells like cigarette smoke
-potpourri (smelly)
-candles (again....the smell)
-I prefer not to get embellishments such as brads, eyelets, or anything that is JUST for scrapbooking, as I don't have time for it =/ Other multi-purpose embellishments are fine though!
-Disney stuff
-neon colors
-country Americana themed stuff (roosters, farms, etc)
rotary cutter blade refills-45 mm
GOOD tutorials for easy craft projects, especially paper and fabric based projects! Online links would be great!
any crafty magazine, used is fine!
clear cling stamps, used is fine!
-versacraft, fabrico, fabry, or any other ink that is meant for FABRIC. The type where the ink won't run when wet.
-Paper Mate flair felt-tip pens, any color
-your long fabric scraps (skinny is fine!), especially if they have a small print design, or bright and colorful
-I love anything that has to do with baking (my favorites being brownies and bars) and cooking. Send me your favorite recipes!
-chocolate and candy from all over the world! I'm in LOVE with Suchard Finessa "feige mandel" from Europe, YUM!
-Domestic chocolate always welcome, especially Dove or Cadbury! I LOVE CARAMEL TOO! Would love to try one of the new Willy Wonka "golden ticket" chocolate bars :)
-basic craft/art supplies-DOUBLE STICK TAPE!, markers (crayola or better preferred), gel/milky pens, glue sticks, metallic sharpies, etc...
-handmade notecards, postcards, greeting or blank cards, envelopes, etc...anything with pretty paper!
-sour or fruit flavored chewy candy (I love the COLORED/sealife swedish fish, sour patch kids, mike & ikes) Just no sour apple or watermelon flavors, the chemical in them gives me a headache =/
-kawaii gifts like sanrio or san-x, I love the Korean stuff too. Anything is good, I just love it all!
-items with rich colors, just not neon bright. If in doubt, I prefer bold and rich colors over pastels.
-pretty journals, preferably lined and lies flat when open (sorry to be so picky, but I'm left handed, so most bindings always get in my way)
-pretty pens, mechanical pencils, markers (basically any colorful/cute writing instrument)
-stickers (no "reward" or teacher type stickers though)
-animals - especially cats, dogs, and rabbits
-earrings, bracelets, barrettes/clips
-lip stuff-nothing too heavy, so fruity flavored lip balms/tints are good, I love stuff in unique/sleek packaging, NO POTS though.
-coffee and coffee flavored stuff, especially "vinacafe"or "starbucks via ready brew colombia" instant coffee packets! If it's traditional coffee grounds/beans I love the "chocolate velvet" made by Millstone, I can't it where I live =/
-travel themed/related items, especially outside of the USA
-your "I can't lie without this" recipes!
-gardening themed items and tips (need LOTS of tips lol)
-DMC floss!!! especially spring/summer colors
-cross stitch patterns (ocean, nature, people, life scenes, buckley moss, mirabella, etc... Just nothing too kiddish/cartoony or early Americana)
-pretty postcards that look like photos, I especially like nature, points of interest and buildings/architecture
-random mix of small plastic charms and beads/bling, like the "I spy" stuff.
-pretty patterned scrapbook paper, as long as it is at least 4x4 inches in size.
-kawaii or swap-bot icon address labels with my address printed on them
I pretty much only read the "love inspired" books and cookbooks, haha.
I love music and listen to mostly top 40 and Christian pop type stuff.
