I am a SAHM with two boys whom I homeschool, ages seven and nine. When I am not teaching, cooking or cleaning, I am downstairs in my studio tinkering with fabric and sewing machine, or tucked up on the couch with knitting and a good audio book.
I live in Colorado and enjoy viewing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains.
My favorite colors are any shades that are found in nature. Lately I've been enjoying brighter, but still realistic colors. I really like jewel tones and soft pastels.
I homeschool my boys and we use swap-bot swaps (especially postcards) to learn about geography, art, and history. They love checking the mail! I would love to get more art postcards to start an art appreciation notebook with them.
My favorite holiday is Easter, though I also enjoy Christmas when it isn't too frantic--we try to keep it peaceful around here. I do not celebrate Halloween, but I do love "harvest" themed decorations, cards, etc.
I always try to send my swaps as soon as possible. If you don't receive something please message me on swap-bot as I usually check here more frequently than my email. I'm happy to resend if you don't get your swap.
I love listening to audio books--librivox.com is one of my favorite sources. I also like historical fiction and some classical literature.
Favorite authors: C. S. Lewis, Shakespeare, Georgette Heyer, Emily Dickinson L. M. Montgomery
I also keep a sharp eye out for good children's authors, and prowl the kids' aisles in the library.
I read knitting and crafting magazines, and any home/decorating type magazines too.
period pieces--I really enjoyed The Scarlet Pimpernell with Jane Seymour, but my latest favorite is North and South, I think it is Masterpiece Theatre?
embroidery, knitting, crazy quilting--anything to do with fabric, yarn, thread, buttons, etc. I tend to go in phases. Mail art, stamping, collage, altered art, recycling type crafts, etc.
I also like drawing and painting with water colors, though I'm not really good--would love to learn more. I appreciate all the great artists on swap-bot who are willing to share their art--it inspires me to keep working at it!
I am rather eclectic when it comes to music, and i'm usually more about the lyrics and the history behind the piece than the music itself, but I enjoy classical, Christian, folk music and some Broadway.
When I am in my studio I am usually listening to a book or a podcast.

Hello!!! I enjoyed reading your profile...your kids have good music taste, the Chipmunks Christmas album IS one of the best albums out there!!! Seriously, I <3 the Chipmunks! I've always been a Theodore fan myself :)
That's really admirable that you homeschool your children :) I bet the Rockies are beautiful - I've never seen them although one time, I was flying over Denver when we were playing them in some sporting event or another, maybe it was baseball? I just remember literally flying over Denver right as the Boston team won...everyone on the plane started cheering :) That doesn't count as seeing the Rockies though LOL...I did live in Nevada for 3 years and the mountains out there are beautiful...I love New England though, we have just enough of everything :) Hope you have a great day!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention, if you want to set up a private swap with me to get some swaps under your belt, let me know. Maybe we could swap buttons, or fabric, or something.
Hello, and welcome to Swap-bot! I have three sons, who are now 17, 11, and 10, so I've been there with the kids. :-) Having two boys so close together can be challenging. (Oh, I'm writing this for the "Leave a Nice Note #5" swap. Forgot to mention... ) I'm envious that you live in the Rockies. I have been there to visit a couple of times, and your mountains dwarf our's. I started to quilt just a few months ago and my mom bought me an ancient Singer at a thrift store. :-) I love it. I haven't sewn in many years, but am now committed to making a Halloween costume for a friend. I hope you have a good day!
