I'm a stay-at-home mom with two kids, and though I live in a bitty rural town now, I grew up in the Seattle area.
I'm totally obsessed with knitting! I love all kinds of yarns, but obviously my favorites are things like cashmere, alpaca, merino and silk - natural fibers are the best! I'm not picky when it comes to colors, but my favorites include autumn reds and oranges and springy lavenders. Any other deep, rich colors are right up my alley.
I'm always up for chocolate, herbal teas, and other treats, but not caffeinated teas or coffee.
This is hard for me to nail down since I love almost all music and my iPod playlists look totally random. I think the only exceptions would be hard metal and rap. I love jazz, musicals, a little bit of country, rock, alternative, folk, and even pop.
Right now I'm loving "Just Because I'm A Woman" which is an album of contemporary artists covering songs written by Dolly Parton but I'm also into a lot of alternative bands like DeathCab for Cutie and The Decemberists. See, I told you it was pretty random.
So many! Some of my favorites right now are "Life of Pi," "The Secret Life of Bees," "Count of Monte Cristo," "Gone With the Wind," and pretty much anything by Jane Austen. I also love books that have international themes - especially to do with development (my degree focused on this). If you do want to send a book along, just make sure it isn't racy - I've got kids in the house!
I've been a little dissapointed with TV lately. I do like to watch American Idol and I'm totally addicted to Lost. If there's nothing good on I always have some of the Rick Steves travel series on my DVR - he's a little nerdy but I love him!
OK I think I covered this in the about me section - I love to knit! I even hand-dye and handspin my own yarn! But that doesn't keep me from building a ridiculously large stash of commercial yarns as well. I've recently discovered ravelry (a website for knitters) and it is really helping me knit down my stash. Of course it is also making me buy more yarn to knit some of the great projects on there.
I also do a little sewing and papercrafting, but they're always taking a back seat to knitting. Someday I plan to learn to crochet and quilt.

Your package for "It's All About Me Sock Yarn" was returned to me today for insufficient postage. I'm a little bit confused about how that happened--I used the automatic machine at the post office, and it tells me how much postage to buy! I'll take it back to the post office tomorrow and ask them about it...sorry for the delay! Shaaron
Thanks again for the beautiful sock yarn. Iris was the perfect choice, and your stitch markers are great, too! did you make them? You created a truly lovely package for me and I appreciate it!
