Hi, folks. I'm interested in arts & crafts, music, crafts, reading, and getting mail from around the world. I'm also hooked on my computer, which explains why I don't get more done in other areas! I love animals in general, and cats in particular.
Yes!! Lots! Classical, blues, bluegrass, classic jazz, singer/songwriter folky stuff, 60s-70s oldies, classic R&B, hand drumming and world music. Collecting music seems to be a compulsion with me. I have far more than I could ever listen to.
Mysteries, thrillers, sci-fi/fantasy, westerns, humor, paranormal, cookbooks, history, biography, memoirs, haiku and cowboy poetry.
I'm a documentary buff - PBS, Smithsonian, National Geographic, The Science Channel, etc. I love British mysteries, and I'm a Grimm-ster. (Keep Portland weird!)
Crochet, knitting, cross-stitch, iris folding and card-making. I like coloring mandalas and other intricate designs with markers or colored pencils, then using the pictures in various craft projects. I play around in Photoshop Elements with digital images. On occasion I make my own postcards.
Movies with good characterizations (as opposed to just lots of action). Car chases and explosions don't do much for me. I'm especially fond of films set in historical times or good psychological thrillers. I love good foreign films and don't mind subtitles at all.
Things I like: post cards (art, children's book illustrations, old posters, advertising, maps, Oriental scenes, cars, religious art), artsy stickers, origami paper, iris folding paper, rubber stamps, pens, colored markers, bookmarks, paper ephemera.
Things I don't care for: "cutesy" teenager stuff, tea or coffee, touristy postcards, multi-view postcards, anything perfumed. If it's bright pink and sparkly, I probably don't want it. :)
