Hi I'm Sophie, First of all, whoever you are to look at my profile, thank you for taking the time and interest to actually look and read! And in case you haven't received anything from me please let me know and I'll resend! I enjoy getting mail so much that I would never let anyone down!
So Life happend and I haven't been on swap-bot in a while... Things have calmed down a bit, so I hope to get back into the exchanges!
I live in Switzerland, but I did an exchanging year in Highschool to Japan (therefore I speak - more or less fluently - German, English, French and Japanese).
I've always enjoyed solving things - the moment you have a solution after trying and trying is such a good feeling. This may explain why I have a BA in mathematics and started my MA in Bioinformatics. Before I finished that however, I realized it is not what I want to do with my life - so I decided to quit and search for what makes me happier. Although lots of people couldn't or wouldn't understand the decision.
I am currently working at a school for the blind and seeing impaired in two different capacities: I prepare Textbooks and all other school materials they might need for their education, and I work as a ludothecarian in the Ludothek. (I don't know if that exists where you might live: a Ludothek is essentially a Bibliothek for games)
Books!!! Especially Fantasy and Romance (even the cheesy ones). Currently my favorite authors are: Nalini Singh, Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews.
Meeting new people: This hasn't always been the case but I absolutely love "meeting" strangers, be that in person (most often via Couchsurfing) or via letters / Postcards, the internet...
Japanese Things: I adore Manga and Anime (especially totoro and anything ghibli), I love japanese food, going to onsen (hot springs) is one of the best things one can do (it's not just japanese onsen but I generally enjoy going to the spa, massages,...)
Crafting: My Mom is an artist now turned hatmaker, so I naturally picked up a love for drawing, sewing, crocheting,... I absolutely enjoy all of these but I don't really do enough of it to be very good...
Drinks, foodstuff,... I drink both coffee and tea (I'm not the biggest fan of fruity tea but other than that I'm up for trying anything)! I'm a huge fan of sour gummies, and dark chocolate, not so much other kinds. But honestly I love trying new snacks (I once received a snack packet from Israel, which was great because I could try so much new stuff) so if you want to send me anything go for food/drinks that might be impossible to buy except for where you live.
Vintage... be that clothes, prints, postcards,... I also really like black-and-white PCs..
If you want to get in my favor with a Postcard, try sending one with books on them - the more the better (sometimes you find pictures of old libraries, ...) I started collecting those... I think postcards are meant to be send naked and not in a envelop, so I do prefer them this way.
So generally, I prefer to get things that I can put on my wall and will look nice (Postcards,...) or things I will use (nice Paper, envelopes, food to eat, drinks to drink (including tea), any kind of jewelry because I enjoy that ;D ...). This is due to the fact that I'm a hoarder - I have the hardest time throwing anything away, but I live in a very small flat - you can see the problem...

Konnichiwa Sophie-san! Suteki na card domo arigatougozaimasu! I really appreciate the card that will grow! I plan to wait for our stubborn Canadian weather to warm up, and plant it outdoors, and then re-pot and enjoy during the next cold period...aka Winter. If it works out, I will keep you 'post'ed! LOL. Hope to run into you again, and can officially give you a BIG HEART!!!
