Very eclectic taste -- I like the Beatles - Sarah Brightman - Jimmy Buffett - Harry Connick, Jr - Shinedown - Fourplay - Fergie - Lynard Skynard - Broadway Musicals - Other Rock and some Metal - Very little country
In days gone by I have tried many different crafts -- I now do jewelry, scrapbooking, knit and crochet.
Most times if I start to watch a TV show on a regular basis it gets cancelled, so I try to not have any one favorite show because I do not want to take the blame when it gets cancelled!! --- I tend to watch movies on TV cable a lot. I do like Leverage. I am a Gleek! And I am looking forward to Season 3!!!!! I am trying out two new shows - sorry if they do get cancelled to anyone else enjoying them
I like chick lit and romance novels the best (Let me have a good fantasy or two!) --BUT the most important thing is a good story line that will entertain me. I will read nonfiction as well as fiction if the subject interests me.
Field of Dreams -- Across the Universe -- Harvey -- Pocket Full of Miracles -- Star Wars IV thru VI -- The Family Stone -- Love Actually - Heart and Souls -- The Replacements (to name a few). I recently saw Pirate Radio and just loved it. I am not sure if it was the movie or the music that made me love it so very much.
I am 55 years old and have been married for 34 years to a really great guy. I married him while he was in the U.S. Navy and followed him all around this country. He now has his Ph.D. and works at home via the computer. He is interested in painting and photography and does amazing pictures with both mediums.
I have worked at many different jobs, including a cleaning person (maid at an army installation), retail sales person (books, clothing and dishes), a medical secretary (in a hospital and for a surgeon), and my job of choice -- librarian. I have worked in school, college and public libraries. I am currently working in the business library at a local college. I work on Sunday afternoon/evening and Monday thru Thursday from 1 - 9 pm. Love it so much. My ideal working hours. No mornings!! Plus I am learning more about the business world then I ever expected I would. But fun!
I have two children (girl 29 & boy 24) that I am extremely proud of for what they have accomplished so far in their lives. My daughter is also a Librarian working for the state of Alabama and lives about three hours north. We try to visit with her at least once each month. My son became a member of the U.S. Army earlier this year. A very unexpected move, but I support him and his decision. He is a trained Chef and hopes to gain more experience through the Army. He is now stationed out in Seattle. Such a long way from here. Hope to get to see him next Spring!
I think the longest I have ever lived anywhere in my married life has been 5 years in the same house or for that matter only about nine years in any one state, multiple locations. I have lived in CA - FL - SC - RI - VA - OH - PA - AL.
Of all the places we have lived, I would say Hershey, PA, was my favorite. It was a great little town that just tended to seem big because of the tourists. Plus it did have the added benefit of smelling like chocolate on some days and it was so strong that you thought you could taste it. (Of course I did have to have a Kiss or two on those days.)
I have lived in a renovated church that was almost 200 years old. I was the last to live in one house before it was moved to the center of town and turned into a museum. At one point I moved back to my childhood home and still felt like my ancestors were all there watching me!! (Thankfully they were friendly spirits.
My favorite colors are yellow, peach (orange) and turquoise. I love the beach. Hearing the sounds associated with the ocean makes me calm and happy. (Favorite thing to do is just walk along the water's edge, preferably with my husband, picking up seashells and the occasional sand dollar.)
I am allergic to tree nuts (which are suppose to be very good for you, just not for me). I am not allergic to peanuts &/or peanut butter (which is good since I love Reese's peanut butter cups). As you can probably tell I love chocolate. Though my favorite chocolate happens to be Wilbur Buds which come from Lititz, PA. I also miss good pretzels. Pennsylvania has the best!
I collect bookmarks, flip flops (both to wear and to decorate my space), shells, and lighthouses. I have a rubber ducky tattoo (which I got with my daughter and she has one also) and so I have a few rubber duckies sitting around the house as well. I recently got my second tattoo. It is a ribbon that is half pink (breast cancer) and half blue (prostate cancer) It is to honor my sister-in-law who died of breast cancer and my husband who is recovering from his ordeal with prostate cancer.
I have had several cats over the years. Just before Thanksgiving last year I adopted an almost one year old calico kitty from the local animal shelter. She was brought in by a family who no longer could keep her because they were moving to a place where they could not have a pet. We named her Kahlua. She is very, very vocal and has adopted my husband as her hero!

I have seen this on other profiles and now I am adding it to my own. I ALWAYS SEND MY SWAPS. Sometimes it is at the start of the swap and sometimes at the end. IF you do not receive an item from me PLEASE email or message me before rating. I will resend. (I feel this is just common courtesy to all swappers.) And once again I would like to reiterate - I ALWAYS SEND MY SWAPS. I am proud to say I am Not a Flaker.
Since joining Swap bot I have begun collecting postcards. Then I found out about Postcrossings and joined that as well. My collection is growing and I have received so many wonderful postcards from all directions. I especially like depictions of lighthouses, anything to do with books or libraries, or local gardens. I enjoy vintage postcards. Actually any type of postcard makes me happy! I do want my cards to be sent Naked. I want to hear about you or the location of the card.

**bookwormAL, Its May 2, could you please let me know if you got the PC for PC Anything goes #5! Ta :-] **
bookwormAL.
Could you please raise a finger to your computer keyboard and let me know if you received my swap I sent to you - PC Anything goes #5.
My boys helped out with this one and (it appears) we have been left high and dry without notice that you have received it or not!
I should also add just for the record, that according to swap-bot both of my pm's to you have been read about the cocktail postcard swap, so it stands to reason that I should have heard something by now. I hope everything is okay with you but I'd really like to archive this particular swap. Thank you.
Since I still haven't heard from you about my cocktail postcard, even after multiple attempts at contacting you, I'm going to resend. We were the only two in this swap, I sent you two postcards in an envelope. You've been in swap-bot at least three times since I started leaving messages and you won't respond to me. I don't understand. You've been on here a long time, it's only common courtesy that one takes the time to respond to inquiries about swaps, don't you think?
If you didn't receive it then you should have let me know by now, however, you haven't responded so I'm going to assume it's lost and resend on Monday since the post office is closed right now.
I'm sorry if I sound crabby about this but we're both seasoned swappers and I shouldn't be left in the dark about this situation.
Hi,
I mailed your postcard for the Favorite Cocktail Postcard swap (loved yours, by the way!) along with one other in an envelope on Feb 27th but I haven't seen a rating yet, however, you should have received them by now. Please let me know if I should resend, I am more than happy to do so.
Happy Swapping and Happy Spring!!

Hi there, is there any hope you received my Decorate an Envie with Tons of Stickers yet? I am hoping it came. :) Let me know, and I'll make you another one, all right? If it did, please rate, but don't hesitate to let me know if you want another one! (You can see I like an excuse to dig out the stickers--haha!) Thank you! Jamie Cassidy lettergirl
Oh my, I see you have a vocal cat, too. Our Stella is that way - she even makes noises while sleeping. She has different tones and we both swear that she understands us completely - we tell her to find her treat or tell her to go get her toy mouse - and she does. She also gives us 'nudges' in the morning with a meow and a drool to wake us up. I adopted her in late 2010 and she's just made my life (and now my boyfriend's) so much richer. :-)
Thanks very much for the heart and rating ^_^ I greatly appreciate it.
Thanks for the PC
