I am currently pregnant, so my mental energy is tied up in that! But I love getting fun mail :)
I love to read, knit, and dance (though dancing is kind of out of the question right now, the pregnancy has really messed up my center of gravity!)
My husband and I aim for a pretty minimalist lifestyle, so not much in the way of decorative stuff laying around, and I really prefer to surround myself with only what is useful, and not much more.
I work in risk management, so I am a numbers nerd who works with spreadsheets all day. I really love it. I feel like every day I get to do something that really impacts the success of my company. And I love that feeling.
I am a relentlessly positive person, and have very little room in my life for whining and complaining. I don't see the point. It doesn't fix anything and it's a downer.
I love to read, though my job has kept me crazy busy for the past few years, so I don't read as much as I used to. I expect the combination of job plus babies will have an even greater impact. That said, I do love mysteries - especially ones set in exotic places I would like to visit some day.
I also read lots of career planning self improvement type books. Yes, I know they are hokey, and I don't take them too seriously, but it keeps me pumped up and focused on improving myself and looking for great opportunities.
I work full time and am pregnant, so it takes me a while to answer letters. I do eventually write back, but babies and work come first, you know?
I type my longer letters, so if you prefer pen pals who hand-write, I'm just telling you now, I'm not your girl. :)
Also, please don't send me friendship books, I'm not in that scene and wouldn't have anywhere to send them on to!
I'm pretty much monogamous with knitting. I can crochet, and will bust it out on occasion, I know my way around a sewing machine or a spinning wheel... but when it comes right down to it, I prefer to knit.

Oh God! You'll see from my letter that I've sent to you that I think we have a few things in common, but I've just looked at your profile after writing the reply to you and spotted your favorite book! It's one of mine too, I'm actually reading it now for the twenty something time! xx
