About Me

Our business is picking up now so with some reluctance I am going to have to pare back on my swapping. I'll finish off the swaps I have ongoing and probably not join any more until next year. It's been a lot of fun and I hope to be able to start swapping again after the mad Christmas Craft Fair rush is over.

Please - if you are sending me something that would get ruined if it got wet could you wrap it in a plastic bag or similar. Our postbox is outside and gets flooded sometimes in the winter.

If you are emailing me please do not use any profanities in your email as then your email is likely to not get to me. Thanks for understanding.

I am female, 31, married mother of 2, in employment (just), have a dog and a cat, I don't smoke, rarely drink, enjoy good company, and love swapping. Oh yeah, I'm a girl but definately not a girly girl. I don't do jewellery or shoes or even shopping.

Favorite Crafts

I am going potty about Japanese crafts just now....the sort of things you find in Cotton Time magazine.

I love paper mache, paper crafts, miniature amigirumi, sewing, knitting, crocheting. I've just discovered a love of inchies and would really like to have enough cool ones to create a framed inchie artwork.

I also love trees, the colour red, sunshine, rainbows, owls.

Likes/Dislikes

Things I would love to receive:

  • Handmade booklets,
  • Beads,
  • Fabric (especially felt or linen),
  • Instructions for making anything with paper, fabric or wool (yarn),
  • Paper,
  • Pencils (coloured),
  • Pens (coloured),
  • Sharpies
  • Rub on transfers
  • Stickers
  • Ribbon
  • Blank journals
  • Wallpaper samples (rolled not folded and big enough to make envelopes)
  • Foreign language books (not English) It's better if they are in poor condition because I'm going to rip them up anyway and it'll save my conscience if they're in a bad way anyhow.
  • If anybody wants to send me back issues of japanese craft magazines like Cotton Time you will be my friend forever...in fact I'll put you in my will. That's how much I love that stuff.
  • Anything you've made yourself (but put some effort into it)
  • Clean, new plain coloured pillow cases (not black)
  • Embroidery floss
  • Double sided tape
  • Wool rovings in bright colours
  • Really silly thing, but you know those little watercolour block paint sets for kids...yep, one of those
  • Inchies in muted colours
  • vintage ephemera

Special Note about the Mega Christmas Ornament Swap

Our tree is 6 foot tall and has a variety of different ornaments that we have collected over the years so we don't have a theme as such. The main colours are red, gold, silver, and a bit of dark blue and dark green.

Things I'm not so keen on receiving:

  • Bath products
  • Anything broken, torn or dirty
  • Food and drink
  • I'm not a huge fan of pink or bright yellow

I can offer...

OK, so I'm adding this as a list of things I can make that I would love to swap...especially for some of the smaller items on my wishlist. These things take me some time to make but cost me next to nothing.

  • Envelopes made out of random papers, in particular wallpaper
  • ATCs and Inchies (please give me a theme to work with)
  • I make felt birds and I love to make them; however they take me a long time to make and I sell them for around $35.00. I would be more than happy to set up a swap for these but you would have to be sending me something very special in return.
  • Ask me about dotees. I don't make them often because I get picky and then they take too long but I do enjoy making them if I have a theme to work with.

Favorite Music

I love all types of music and regularly listen to an ipod mix of classical, death metal, old melodies, and pop...very strange!

There is a song that my granddad used to sing to us about a tomato and being hit in the face with it but it was in a tin...something like that. If you know what this is then please let me know. It was on the same tape as the Soldiers Almanac - about a deck of cards.

Favorite Television

We don't have broadcast television; however we do rent DVDs and have been enjoying the likes of Buffy, Angel, Life on Mars, Dr Who, 24, and House.

Movie wise, Quentin Tarantino is a house favourite. The movies we watch over and over from our collection are the Matrix films, the Bourne films, the Alien films, Grease...will post more when they come to mind.

Someone else sent me also a giraffe from this swap (I am not sure who, I have to investigate now) and I believe it was printed or stamped somehow, could not really make it out. Yours is totally cute though! :D
