My name is Rosey Bacon and I am a SAHM of 2 teenaged boys; married to my college sweetheart for 22 years; human to a goofy 5 y.o. rat terrier.
I love to read! Time travel, historical romance, sci fi, youth, cozy mysteries, thriller, cookbooks. Yes, sit me down with a cookbook and a cup of tea or coffee, and I'm happy as a clam! I have amassed quite a few cookbooks over the years, but lately I just check them out from the library, and if I really like it, I'll go ahead and buy it.
I also like to cook and bake. Other than a handful of family recipes that I throw in to the meal planning mix, I am routinely trying new recipes. So far my family doesn't seem to mind! And my mom passed on the bread baking gene to me -- nothing like a good loaf of homemade bread to cure what ails ya! And the 5 Minute Artisan Bread cookbook is AWESOME!
Love sending/receiving snail mail. Whether it be just a pen pal letter, RAK, or swap. Snail mail is happy mail!
My favorite color is PURPLE! Pens, purses, stickers, clothes, yarn, quilts...I also like lapis lazuli blue and teal, but not as much as purple!
Since I was about 5 years old, I've collected bunny stuff...but through the addition of my married name, bacon and pig paraphenalia have been showing up around the house!
Anything but country! From Christian rap to classical and everything inbetween. Likes: Eminem, Michael Buble, Pink, Justin Timberlake, Harry Connick, Jr., Ok Go!, Depeche Mode, The Cure, B.A.D., Salt n Pepa, Dean Martin, Evanescence, Hoobastank, Alien Ant Farm, Gotje
My favorite authors are Jasper Fforde, Maeve Binchy, Diana Gabaldon, and Anne Mccaffrey. But I'll read just about anything!
Steel Magnolias, Grosse Point Blank, Toy Story, Brave...my guilty pleasures? Anything with Jason Statham or Vin Diesel! Although I'm a huge fan of John Cusack, especially his movies from the 80s & 90s.
Suits, Parenthood, Parks & Rec, The Middle, Modern Family, Game of Thrones, Fringe
Scrapbooking is my passion, even though I haven't done much of it lately. I've also accumulated a lot of rubber stamps over the years. My new planner "addiction" helps me use a lot if my scrap & stamp supplies. I also like to knit/crochet and quilt. I like to do all sorts of crafts, even though I'm not too good at some of them -- like painting! Walls, yes. Crafty stuff, not so much.
Books: I am a serial reader! I have to read the book series from book 1 or I'll go mental! Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, Harry Potter, Fablehaven series by Brandon Hull, Any of Anne McCaffrey's series (Dragonriders, Acorna, etc.), Rizzoli & Isles series by Tess Geritsen -- reading is my form of escapism!
Tea: Stash Jasmine Green Tea, Numi Honeybush, Numi Rooibos
Coffee: light roast with a slop of cream and Splenda, NEVER Folgers, sometimes a 16oz soy English Toffee latte no whip
Chocolate: dark -- with caramel or peppermint
Candy: 100 Grand, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, gummy bears, and LOVE Hot Tamales
Pizza: stuffed crust, pepperoni & pineapple, sausage/olive/pepperoni, and white sauce versions (red sauces tend to give me heartburn!)
Scrapbook Stuff: any and all; mostly 12x12 size
Stickers
Paper
I'm a Fontaholic: I have WAY too many on my computer!
Calligraphy: from all countries/languages
Stationary & Note Cards
Pens: that are smooth writing and fine point
Nail Polish: currently into the gel stuff, but I love seeing all the nail art out there!
Makeup: I use Bare Minerals and love their eye shadows, but I am always on the look-out for the best mascara. I could spend hours in Sephora!
Recipes: (4x6 cards), slow-cooker/crockpot, freezer meals
Planners: I use a cute 8.5x11 binder from Target to keep my life in order! As I like to do graphic design stuff on the computer, I have made the majority of my pages. I would like to find a good wallet sized planner for my purse that I can use the envelope system.
Devotionals & Bible Studies: Currently reading through "My Utmost for His Highest," by Oswald Chambers, but I like anything for women or moms (of older kids). Love the books by Stormie O'Martian "Power of a Praying Wife," and "Power of a Praying Mom." And studies by Beth Moore. Currently doing a John MacArthur study on Revelation in our couples' Life Group.
Home Decorating Style: Early Marriage Eclectic (haha). Love Frank Lloyd Wright! Arts & Crafts Era
Hello Kitty: was an avid collector of HK stuff when I was young, but got rid of a lot of it when I went to college (stupid mistake!).
Bunnies: cute & whimsical, stuffed, prints by Paris Bottman, "It's Happy Bunny" stuff by Jim Benton
Pigs/Bacon: has become a regular gift received because of my last name!
