I just moved to Canada to work for a a few years. Before moving here I lived in Chicago for almost ten years, but I grew up in Indiana. I went to art school in Chicago. I draw, paint, quilt, and I am just starting to embroider. I am also into jewelry making and I love to discover new creative projects.
I love any music except maybe Polka.
I LOVE books. I like new e-readers, but it will never replace real books for me. Cookbooks are a favorite. I like the Harry Potter books, but I like Tolkien more.
ANY!!!! Right now I am doing jewelry making, quilting and embroidery. I just moved out of a big house with a nice big backyard, garage and basement where I could do more industrial crafts (woodworking, pottery...) I am now in a small apartment (temporarily for work) so I am adjusting my crafts to things I can do in smaller spaces that don't make too much noise, dust, or mess.
After my grandmother passed away I found a stack of post cards that she had been saving for years. After reading through them I discovered that she participated in the original type of post card swaps. It seems most of hers where done through the magazines like the Ladies Home Journal. Readers would post ads and exchange post cards based on the posted ads. My grandmother had postcards from all over the country and had shared with so many people. I am excited to continue with her post card collection.
