Meragram

Hi to all my group swapping friends. I will be taking a break from swaps for a while due to work commitments and a holiday with my G'daughter. I will get back to swaps in August. Cheers till then.

I live in the beautiful Clarence River Valley on the far north coast of NSW, Australia. I have two adult sons, two special daughters-in-law and 4 grandchildren. My partner of 40 years and I moved to this area from Sydney. I have been retired for a few years now and in this time have taken up drawing, painting and sculpting which I am loving. Through the University of the 3rd Age I have joined two art groups, one focusing on water colours and the other mixed medium. I enjoy both and am learning lots from the very generous artists in these groups. One member of the group introduced us to swap-bot. We shared our first ATC's on (Oct. 11th'12) I would like to share my efforts with other artists and learn from their shared ATC's.

I enjoyed scapbooking when my grand children were younger and photos of them were prolific and ever changing as they grew. I made volumous scrap albums for each of them. I enjoyed the creative process, collecting embelishments and the memorable results. I use some of those processes in card making for friends and family.
I am now however, consumed by my foray into the finer arts. I received an ecouragement award for a water colour I entered in a recent local fine art exibition so I am now trying to justify that encouragement by getting in as much 'brush mileage' as I can. I am still exploring mediums and a range of subjects. I am not yet able to say what will be my "thing". I am just enjoying learning new techniques and exploring materials.

I love to:

-Spend time with friends and family.

-Travel. My partner and I have criss-crossed the Australian continent several times. I have also spent time in China, Canada, Alaska, Singapore and Japan.

-Swim and Surf. I have swum in most of the seas and oceans around Australian and many rivers as well. I also had a dip while watching a glacier calve while in Alaska.

-Read. I didn't list my favourite books as I have so many. I most enjoy novels with an historical or well researched background. I also have a passion for children's books as my primary qualification is in Early Childhood Education.
