I love quilting and knitting and The Farmers 1930s Quilt Along is my first Quilt Along - I'm a little behind but that's because I took a little break in November and December to organise my wedding.

I got married to Mark my partner of three and half years at the beginning of January. It was a lovely day - a celebration of the love that has kept us going over some very difficult times in the past few years.

I do a weekly quilt class where I'm nearly finished a colour wheel quilt that I started in October 2015 - and I'm now starting work on a hexagon paper piecing pin cushion before I start building my hexagon stash for a larger project at some point. I also take along the Farmers Quilt blocks if I'm stuck as there are a lot of knowledgeable ladies always willing to help.

I also love reading (mainly crime thrillers) and I'm in a book group. Mark and I love to go to watch football and rugby and try to get out for a good walk in the country a couple of times a month.

I'm using Gleeful Fabric from Sew Caroline as the main colours for the sew-along. I've added coordinating flurries and Kona solids to increase my colour options. I've only discovered modern quilts in the past few years (thank you Pintrest!) so I'm slowly building up my fabric stash via the internet (as often as I think my husband has forgotten when the last parcel arrived!).
