I am a mom to 3 teenagers who now has the time and energy to explore all of the crafting the world of art has to offer.
I've been a die-hard scrapbooker for almost 20 years and have amassed quite a collection of supplies.Over the past year, I've branched out into other styles of art like painting, collage, junk journals, altered books and book making.
I live in the Southeast United States with my husband, 3 teenagers and an elderly (vintage?) dog who loved to keep me company while I craft. Update 2/21 - RIP my beautiful girl. I miss you so much. UPDATE: 5/2021 Welcome Gracie, my new rescue dog! She's 2 years old and had a rough life on the streets. I'm looking forward to many happy years. UPDATE 8/21 Welcome to the family Cooper! Our latest rescue dog. Gracie is so happy to have a little bro to play with.
I am always open to excess decos and swap bags. PM me if you have some you want to move!!
I love private swaps. LMK what you'd like to swap and we can make it happen.
Since the pandemic lockdown, I have discovered junk journaling and altered books. I'm a beginner, but my projects end up looking like art journals so I think its going well :)
I'm early in my search for vintage ephemera to decorate the pages and could use just about anything vintage, steampunk, and 1940's and 1950's era.
Items I am on the lookout for are:
vintage textiles
old tickets.photos and advertisements
Old used letters and envelopes
vintage office supplies such as ledger paper, time cards, receipts
any aged paper both written on and blank.
*vintage and old can be the way it looks and not based on its actual age.
Since joining SwapBot, I have jumped into swapping Decos, Bags and Kawaii stationery. I had no idea I could get addicted to so many fun crafts. I'll join any deco swap I can find.
I tend to go through phases of getting into new styles of crafting. Currently, I'm discovering junk journals and altered art. Of course that also led me into altered books and now book making. I just bought a book binding kit on amazon and I'm gathering my supplies to make my first book. Fingers crossed...
I've been watching Youtube tutorials on junk journals and watercolor art. I'm hooked :)
EDIT 6/2021: My newest obsession is swapping decos and bags. Kawaii stationery has also caught my eye and the addiction is starting to fester. I'd love a private swap if anyone is interested.
I've always enjoyed scrapbooking and general paper crafts. I've wished to be the kind of artist who can draw or paint anything, but even as far back as elementary school, none of my original drawings ever made it to refrigerator door status. Once I was old enough to buy my own supplies, I drifted towards art kits, paint by number and now diamond painting.
So many crafts, so little time...
I'm very much into documentaries and crime dramas. My go-to is reality court shows (I know, crazy huh?) but I just love relaxing in the evening watching Hot Bench or People's Court. My kids tease me mercilessly about this, but I think they are secretly fascinated by the judicial system as it plays out on reality shows like these.
I actually watch very little TV, and am more into You Tube videos. This is where I've gone down the rabbit hole of "craft with me" videos and have really expanded my interests in crafting beyond scrapbooks and the occasional card.
Back when the theaters were open, my guilty pleasure was to go to a matinee showing of a horror movie on a weekday, all by myself. I'd get a way overpriced bag of popcorn and drench it in faux butter liquid and tons of salt. It was a great way to kick back and relax. Netflix and a bag of Pop Secret is the best I can do lately.
