I am a Renaissance Faire performer (street character, not a stage show). I love costuming, sewing, embellishing and general crafty goodness. I have been a puppeteer, a massage therapist and an office drone. I really enjoy collections of random things and love the I Spy books for that reason. I am interested in belly dance, steampunk/neo-Victorian, Rennie-goth and such.
Things I like in themes for those "check your partner's profile" swaps:
Jim Henson/ Muppets,
puppets in general (like Madame, or European puppetry),
steampunk things,
anything in Pyramid catalog,
Hallowe'en - serious & cool, not really the cutesy things;
Terry Pratchett/Discworld,
Discovery Channel/Travel/Learning/History/etc,
Disney,
French literature,
Romania,
Renaissance Festival,
Dia de la Muerta and general morbidity,
unicorns (holdover from my childhood),
Scrabble,
words, languages,
fools/jesters,
classic horror themes (vamps, werewolves, etc),
classic films & stars (Cary Grant, Kat Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, etc),
Unitarianism and paganism,
the beach!
belly dance,
Phantom of the Opera,
that is probably enough.
In music, I love techno and electronica, showtunes. I love Abba, David Bowie, and all kinds of remixes. Disney soundtracks are great! I have kids, go figure. I rather like Apoptygma Berzerk, Wolfsheim, Evanescence, Michael Crawford, Mr. B, AWOLNation.
In books, I adore Terry Pratchett (creator of the Disc World series) and am rather fond of Conversations w/ God. I enjoy good biographies, historical fiction and well written novels. I do not like romances...blech.
I'm a total Discovery Channel geek. Discovery, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, History Channel, Food Network and so on (or was before they showed wierd reality stuff). I love shows about real hauntings, forensics, etc. I don't often watch just sit-coms. I love classic Jim Henson: Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, etc. I have been a puppeteer, so I love puppets. My husband has introduced me to some new shows and venues such as Dr. Who, Turner Classic Movies and Elementary.
Labyrinth! I stopped counting how many times I'd seen it when I got to 200. Legend is a great one also. I love classic films: Philidelphia Story, Bringing up Baby, Casablanca, etc. My husband is a Turner Classic Movies fan and has really broadened my spectrum of great films. Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Kate Hepburn, James Cagney....sigh. More modernly, I like Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp & Tim Burton.I'm sure there are others. Just not coming to me now.
Sewing, beading, embellishing, embroidery, ATCs, inchies and paper-crafts. I like making resin pendants, embellishing metal bits into pendants and doing Scrabble tile or wood bit pendants. Painting, drawing (albeit not my best talent). I have made a few attempts at quilting... I like making accessories for my Ren Fair costume.
I really love kitschy keychains from touristy places. For crafting themes, I enjoy (but am not limited to) vampires, chthulhu, Dr. Who, Labyrinth, mermaids, octopi, fairies, unicorns, bats (the animal), dragons, ravens, cats. Oddly enough, anything kitshy or unapologetically tacky. I like steampunk, vintage, Renaissance era. Slightly naughty is fun. I'll add as I think of things.
I am not particularly fond of Kawai or seriously cutesy stuff. I'm not really into Twilight.

Hi Heather, if you return to this site, please don't forget to rate your partner for the Blackout Poetry ATC swap. I understand she's messaged you about it.
I'm sorry- I haven't been on here in a few years. I see last year you asked me for my location because you were tracking ATC's you had done (Phantom of the Opera). My location is Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Sorry about the delay!
I too love Labyrinth more then you're average person ;-) I've been watching it since I was a baby! Always good to see others who love it like I do!
sounds awesome! Feel free to set up a private swap. Any particular color etc. you would like a little book in?
You can see some of my mini books on my etsy (or my deviant art but they''re harder to find there), links to both are on my profile. And I'd be glad to trade you one if you like! I have a pretty big back-stock, and they rarely sell.
Rockin! I love that we have so much in common! I am 36 so I know how it feels to be an elder! Thanks so much for letting me know about yourself;) We can do a private swap sometime. I'm not sure when as I have a pretty full dashboard and of course my Etsy shop is super busy but I'm sure we can do it soon!
I don't even remember that swap! I'm in Phoenix, AZ.
I am in Youghal in Co. Cork Ireland. I hope that helps. Happy Swapping.
Kind regards Helen
