Description:

This swap is for those of you like me who want to try something new - like watercolors, pastels, paper weaving, shaving cream marbling, image transfer, and soooo many more. There are plenty of places on the internet as well as books like the one pictured here to find some new techniques - so now's your chance to try some out. I have been experimenting with some new techniques for making ATC's like image transfer, gesso and structure gel on ATC's. I didn't really know what I was doing - just bought something that looked interesting, tried to figure out how to do it and got some interesting results.

Since these will be first (or 'sort of' first) tries we are all going to be beginners! Your ATC's don't have to be very fancy - be sure not to cover up all of what you created with your new technique. Include a short note about your technique and any tidbits you picked up in trying it for your partner.

For this ATC swap you will make one ATC using a technique you haven't tried before. You will have one partner. Newbies welcome!

Is it okay if it's a technique that we've only tried once or twice? Or should it be something brand new?

Joining---I just got the book in the picture 2 days ago, and I can't wait to try some of the stuff in it!!

Emika - sure! I can't imagine many of us don't need a few tries to get something we feel like we're good' at! That's the idea - learn something new or improve on something we dabbled in.

Atcs are Type 3, not Type:2.

It seems they can be either 3 or 2. Sometimes they go with regular flat postage and sometimes they need more. Hopefully everyone realizes this. It's just force of habit that I put 2. I have been hosting swaps for a year or so and just recently realized that some people consider ATCs type 3.

I think of type 3 because you craft the atcs, you put time in the swap and create something. thanks for the answer. its your swap your rules.

I agree, now that I read the swap setup more carefully. I just always used it as more of a postage-meter than an amount-of-time-spent-on-them-meter.

ATC's are entirely new to me, and I'm looking forward to getting involved :) Thanks for setting up this swap!

Cheers, Jane :)

I agree - ATCs are type 3. Don't forget to change it :)
