Description:

Since this is a swap for members who are just beginning to learn certain skills, I would ask that everyone use the tutorial provided below and follow the swap requirements precisely. Please do not ask to use other tutorials. If you do not wish to do this, then perhaps this is not the swap for you.

All NFS members are welcome to join, but please keep in mind that this may be your partner's first effort , so please be kind when rating and providing feedback. Thx. (";)

Here's your chance to try your hand at making fabric yo-yos!

We will all use THIS TUTE to make each of our partners a Yo-Yo Christmas Ornament. (Feel free to further embellish if you wish, but this is not a swap requirement.)

Open to all NFS members in good standing anywhere in the world but please read "IF YOU JOIN MY SWAPS" on my profile page (scroll down a bit) for a complete understanding of how I screen swap participants.

NOTE: I need at least 5 participants (not including myself) for the swap to go forward.

If you have any questions, please pm me as I do not check my swaps every day. Thx.

Is this the pattern that we must use or can we use a different pattern?

TerryF 07/18/2011 #

Since this is a swap targeted to those just learning how to sew, yes, you must use this tutorial. (";)

I can't find a rhinestone that big overhere, would another embellishment be acceptable?

paflip25 09/22/2011 #

The biggest round rhinestone I can find is 15mm.

a button would probably work

PLEASE NOTE

For the centre embellishment, please use whatever you like (rhinestone in another size as long as it covers the centre gathers of the yo-you, button(s), flower(s), charms(s). etc.).

You may also use the ribbon you have, no need to go out and buy those exact widths.

You may also use fancy string rather than ribbon as a hanger.

As long as the yo-yo is the size stipulated, and the ribbon and centre embellishment are placed as directed in the tutorial, you will have met the swap requirements. Anything above and beyond that is optional and up to you. (";)
