Description:

From Wikipedia: "Groundhog Day is a holiday celebrated on February 2 in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly 'see its shadow' and retreat back into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks."

For this swap, you will have 3 partners. You will send each partner a groundhog or groundhog day themed greeting card/postcard. Feel free to buy or make your card. You can also include extras if you'd like, but a card is all that's required of this swap.

This swap is only open to the US and Canada. Unrated members are welcome; rated members have at least a 4.5 rating. I will angel this swap if needed.

Just double checking that it is OKAY to send a greeting card - handmade - you don't have to send a postcard?

I'm planning on making a card, too. It will give me something to do while waiting for the snow to melt!!

@alliegower yes, a handmade greeting card is ok.I was just trying to say that either a greeting card or a postcard is fine.

Also, it's fine to make your card on the computer, as long as it gets printed out and sent to your partner via snail mail.

Also, if you like this swap, you may enjoy this group. I'm sorry if this comment comes off sounding spamm-y, but I thought it would be ok since I'm hosting this swap.

I was just getting ready to set up a Groundhog Day cards swap on here as I have done in years past (2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010) -- when I saw your swap, already made. It'll be nice to be "just" a participant for once, instead of the host. :-)

thesuester 12/18/2010 #

@catlingmex I hope you don't mind that I beat you to it.

catlingmex 12/19/2010 #

Not at all, thesuester; it was time for me to hand the torch on to someone else anyway. :-)

This was a fun swap. I had NO idea I even had anything GROUNDHOG that I could use, but I located an image on a Cricut Cartridge (Designer's Calender).

Thanks for hosting, I look forward to some happy, fun mail.

Allie
