Description:

Not being Christian, this whole Christmas thing can get rather overwhelming. Look at the top swaps - half of them are Christmas related and it's only September! I don't begrudge anybody their celebration, but its a time of year I feel very much an outsider, yet unwittingly sucked into the consumer spending spree because of societal expectations.

For this swap, send a card plus a short letter that is funny, sarcastic, or otherwise irreverent about the holiday season. Need ideas? Just Google "Bah Humbug"!! Feel free to rant and rave, unload, and express your inner Scrooge. You can use something handmade or storebought.

Anyone can join, in any country,as long as you have a COMPLETELY filled out profile and no recent bad ratings.

For those of you who aren't from US or UK, and who don't know what BAH HUMBUG is, it's an expression from a famous Charles Dickens' Christmas story about a mean-spirited man. It basically means "what rubbish!" or "what nonsense!"

see Bah Humbug! Serious Version swap for a deeper look at the true meaning of winter holidays.

hehehe Last year I saw a book or a kit or something that was really wrong 'family newsletters'-- a very sarcastic take on Christmas. I love Christmas, but this is too much fun to pass up!

Boy is sounds like you really do not like the holidays or Christmas with 2 scrooge type swaps going. From Oct-Jan is my favorite time of year because of the holidays. Do you like New Years?

Umm..will we be visited by the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future? At the end of the story, Scrooge was a transformed man and vowed to keep Christmas in his heart all year round. It is a wonderful life affirming story.

Shop and bid, I just hate the commercialism/consumerism. I like the spiritual aspects a lot. Plus I hate the feeling of being an outsider in my own country, because I am of a different religion.
