What is an ATC

An ATC should:
Be 2 1/2 x 3 1/2
have a sturdy base such as cereal box type cardboard.
be original, made by you, art or craft.
have info on the back such as creator's name, date, email, title of work # in collection (1 of 3). This info should be left intact by other swappers.

Ok, let me try this..

1.ATCs are miniature works of art.

2.ATCs are made in different media's(Dry,Wet,or Paper media's) The swap will state what kind of ATC to make.

3.Write your real name and swap name and date along with the name of the ATC on back.

I hope I did this swap right.

You don't have to check other posters' comments to make sure yours are unique, but do be sure that those you write are of your own understanding of ATCs

2. ATC info on the back should indicate if it is a one of a kind (ooak).

3. NEVER pass off another artist's work as your own...that's cheating.

Hm...let me see...ATC's as I understand them:

1. ATC's must be a specific size, which is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches (6cm x 9 cm or 64mm x 89mm).

2. ATC's must be a piece of original art you are proud to say you made.

3. ATC's are fun things to trade with other people, of all skill levels.

4. ATC's should have a sturdy backing, such as watercolor paper, recycled boxes, playing cards (sanded so that paper and paint can adhere to the surface better), cardstock, or other fun materials such as polymer clay, wood, glass, etc. Sky's the limit!

5. ATC's are perfect for experimentation and trying new media or techniques.

ATC's (to me)

1. Should be 3.5" x 2.5" and can be decorated either landscape or portrait

2. When starting it can be easier to think of them as card toppers (that helped me and other card makers I know)

3. Make them sturdy, recycle cereal boxes or other grocery boxes as backs

4. They are fun ways to use up scraps from larger projects.

an ATC should follow a theme

ATC can be in a series eg 5 cards in the collection if this is the case ATC must be marked on the back eg 1/5, 2/5 etc.

ATC should also have the artists name on the back and the date.

ATC can be of any shape.

ATC are usually made out of sturdy cardboard but not always.

An ATC:

1. Should be sized 2.5x3.5

2. Should have a sturdy backing of cardstock, cardboard, etc

3. Can be made with a plethora of mediums

4. Are their very own masterpieces no matter what anyone else thinks!

• it is a good canvas to try new techniques on a small scale
• they are made to trade and to have fun with and not be taken too seriously - like life.. :)
• there aren't too many 'rules' to making them..

ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards, therefor they're art.
The required size is 2 2/1 x 3 1/2 "
They could be made out of any medium, as long as the backing is something sturdy
they are for trading and handing out, so don't sell them
you should put your name on the back, along with serialnumber and name (if desired)
