Description:

My biggest deterrent to the whimsey jar swaps is that I feel like I'm mostly paying shipping on a jar. Those tings are heavy! So, in response to not wanting to pay for the shipping on a jar, I'm dressing this swap down a bit for my first ever "unjarred whimsey" swap! I love the jars, but I don't want to pay to ship them.... So, in this swap, you will have 1 partner, to whom you will send a QUART sized zip lock bag full of items related to the theme of "Woodland Creatures!" So anything Woodland Creatures can go into this bag! I wanted to leave the theme pretty open so lots of things could be put into the zip lock! This is sender's choice, but feel free to post your favorite animal below! The bag does not have to be decorated, but how much fun if it was! BTW: if you have any doubt as to whether or not you're in a position to send out this swap on time, please DO NOT join.ALSO: Please send new items or things that no one would ever guessed had been used. Everyone wants a good package. So... ideas for items can include: sticker sheets, lettersets, small woodland creature toys, suncatchers, pictures and prints, an atc or two, buttons, sticker flakes, stuffies, deco tape, memo pads, writing pads, stamps, erasers, earrings, necklaces, charms, socks, fabric... and hopefully, a bunch of other items I haven't thought of! Minimum ratings will be enforced and no recent 1's or 3's. Newbies must have at least 10 swaps with some mailed behind them with 5's and hearts. I'll be nixing questionables as I can't angel this. Thank you! HANDMADE--yes. Item can be handmade, but please make sure it's something you would absolutely LOVE to receive!!! :)

Cool idea. I don"t do whimsy jars for the same reason.

Cool idea! I've backed off from whimsey jar swaps partly because of the shipping costs, and partly because I've had weirdly consistent bad luck with them, both in terms of receive-from partners flaking and send-to partners not rating... but this one sounds like a good place to jump back in! On my watchlist for now.

Same here--besides being heavy, they are breakable! But a GALLON bag??

great idea... i do think a gallon bag is BIG though. might as well fill a mediium flatrate box or something. ;P :)

I don't think I realized how big a gallon bag was.... i just kind of thought of it as more flat than a jar....idk...gimme a day to think and then I'll edit if needed.

Ooh how I wish this was international! Us chaps over in the UK always have to pay the shipping whatever swaps we join and this one sounds sooooo much fun!

I like this idea too, but a GALLON bag will hold a ton of stuff. How about a small flat rate box? The ones shaped close to a VHS tape? I think that would hold about what a larger jar would hold. Of course depending on whats inside it would probably be cheaper to mail it in a bubble mailer. But at least that would give us all something to measure by and they are free at the post office. Just a thought... =)

does anyone know the "official" size of a VHS sized bubble mailer?

I might have missed a beat...can items be handmade?

tiggerkitn25 11/ 7/2010 #

Thanks for editing and answering our questions! =)

BTW, I'd be happy with pretty much any animals but my absolute favorites are Squirrels, Owls, Foxes, and Raccoons. =)

I love owls and tiny brown birds... those are my favorites... I kind of like kawaii deer...

I'm totally into Deer - please!
