Description:

Page at a Time Fat Journal: Paisley

For this swap, you will use paisley as the theme to create a fat journal page.

This will be the first in a series of swaps aimed at creating a complete fat journal.

The page should be well decorated, with writing and embellishments, suitable for inclusion into a fat journal. It should use an entire composition book size page of 7.5" x 9.75" (19 cm x 24,7 cm). Use only one side of the page. Since the pages are based on a theme, and not a profile, you can begin your page as soon as you sign up.

Group requirements apply to this swap. It's not worth flaking.

This is an international swap. It is not usually appropriate to fold a fat journal page, so take that into account when considering the possibility of international postage.

A rough idea of postage from US to France or Australia calculated using the USPS website: A First-Class Mail® International Package (which is the size envelope to fit a full sheet of paper, rigid, and not completely flat), weighing up to 2 ounces (which equals approximately 10-12 sheets of paper) would cost $2.28 USD

@midwestkiwi thanks for the shipping info and size requirements! Mundane as they are, those are the details we need to give/get appropriate swap items. Nicely done!

would it be better to make it more sturdy by gluing a couple of pages together rather than just one sheet alone??? Just thinking of having to glue it in.

It would depend on how you treat the page. A collaged page would probably end up multi layered in the end. Or you might start with a heavier paper to begin with.

I will try to put together some pictures in the next couple of days, and maybe extend the sign up date then, too?

PinkLotus 10/11/2010 #

yeah a bit of an extension would help..

I will post pictures at the weekend.

In the meantime, I have extended the signup/sendby dates.

watching for now but I think Im "thinking" to hard with this one

I'm sorry, I can't seem to get my camera and page in the same place at the same time, so I will extend this again. Thank you in advance for your patience. This will be fun, fun, fun once it gets started and you will all be junk/fat journal addicts. It is not that different from the glue journal, except it is one page and follows a theme. Don't think about it too hard, it is hard to screw up a single page and we all seem to be at nearly the same level of skill so we will all learn together!

and let me know if the turnaround time is too short. I tend to try to get single item projects done over the first weekend of a sign up, with a weekend to spare, but I'm happy to make changes, since I do hope this will become a series that will enable us to create a fat journal together.

its fine with me.. I dont like deadlines that drag out too long.. usually i send within a couple days of partners being assigned. I just got some stuff wrapped with guess what - paisley wrapping paper!! I plan on using some of that for my partner :-)

PinkLotus 10/20/2010 #
