Hot Potato Deco #1

What are Hot Potato Decos? For those who are not yet familiar with them, they are time sensitive three page mini themed scrapbooks.

If you love scrapbooking, collage, card making and mixed media crafts (fabric, paper, drawing or painting),

Then this is the swap for you!

Requirements:

1) Make 1 DECO to send to one partner. This is a sender’s choice monthly swap.

2) The DECO cover is 5 ½ X 7 ½ inches (11 X 7 ½ scored in the centre) and decorated in the theme of your DECO. You might want to keep the cover relatively simple as it takes a bit of a beating moving around two swapper’s studios. Then cut FOUR 5 X 7 pages and use brads/paper fasteners to attach them to the inside of the back cover (direction, portrait or landscape).

3) Make a title page. Create the first page of the DECO on a 4 ¼ X 6 ¼ inch piece of paper, and attach it to the front of the second 5 X 7 inch page in the DECO. This will be page one of the eye-candy and an example for your partner(s) to follow. On the back of the title page, opposite your deco page place your name, address, Swap-bot ID, and the name of this swap. You might also request partners to include a photo, favourite quote, a few words about the deco’s theme or a technique used to decorate a page.

4) The measurements given and the completion of the decorated page on a separate sheet of 4 ¼ X 6 ¼ inch paper allow for a nice & neat (N & N deco).

5) Add any directions you might have on the inside of the front cover or the back of the last page.

6) The DECO creator places their name, snail-mail address, Swap-bot ID, the name of this swap and the final completion date it is to be returned to it's owner on the inside of the back cover. The final completion date for this swap is August 31, 2010 or as close as possible.

7) When you've completed your page send the DECO you have worked on to another deco artist. Contact another member of this swap or a person who works on decos or scrapbooking. Please be sure they have first agreed to work on the deco and meet the final completion date.

GOAL: We want to get the DECOs back to their creators in approximately one month. The creator of the 3rd and final page has done a Random Act of Kindness for the love of art. Please be sure to thank them after you have received your finished deco.

Note: This is an international swap to be totally inclusives so please do try to complete the project in a timely fashion and consider mailing it early if your partner is on the other side of the globe.

Participant Screening:

Must have a fully completed profile (not just a few lines). Must have completed 5 swaps, have a 4.8+ status and no unexplained 1 or 3’s. I will list all flakers.

Ratings:

We’d all like to do a swapper’s dance of joy when we open our envies/packages, but remember ratings are based on meeting the swap's requirements. The DECO itself or a DECO page may not be your exact taste or style, but if the swap requirements were basically followed then your partner gets a five and a heart if you feel so inclined.
