Description:

This will be the first of a series of swaps, dedicated to your personal childhood photos. I think you can learn so much about a person (and about yourself) through them! Some of the swaps will only be about sharing; others might be more challenging and will need your creativity on hand.

Swap #1: Good Memories

In this swap you are invited to choose a childhood photo that depicts a good memory you have from the time. Scan and print the photo in its original colors. Send with a letter telling about the photo, the story or memories behind it or anything else that pops in mind regarding it. The length of the letter is sender's choice (though try not to send just 3 linesรขโ‚ฌยฆ).

Enjoy sharing and receiving!

Swap requirements: All swappers welcome with a rating of 4.9 and up and newbies must have an extensively filled out profile. Please, no late sends or recent 1's or 3's (unless they can be explained, PM me). Participants must sign in during the week before signup deadline.

This sounds like fun. All my photos are packed up because I am moving July 1st and already started to pack. But I do look forward to round #2

Oh how I wish I had my childhood photos. I grew up in the 70's and they would have been really nice to share. Unfortunately I lost all of my family pictures, including all except one picture of my mom and dad, in a basement flood. :(

What a great swap!!

Do we print the photo on the same paper as the story or do we need to get it printed as a photo on photo paper? I love this idea, thanks for running this swap:-)

As a child of the 50's all my photos are in Black and White and seem to be 1/2 the size you get today. I hope that will be OK?

This is a great swap idea!! My photos are all back in my childhood home in Massachusetts. But I've just e-mailed my brother to look through them and find some to scan to me. Once he does I'll join the swap.

@RosieRoyalty I'm sorry to hear about your photos in the basement flood :( Maybe you have relatives who can send you one? (Just a thought, if you'd really like to join).

@AngelFaeryKathleen I think it'd be best that the photo be printed separately from the letter. But paper type is sender's choice here, so no problem printing on regular paper. Also, no problem about black and white - that's the original colors :) And original size is good, you can enlarge if you choose.

@ArtyBeth3 Great! Looking forward to seeing you in the swap!

Swap #2 in the series is up as well, inviting you all to join both :)

Do the photos have to be on photo paper or can we print them on good quality printer paper. I usually use the paper that is for multiple uses. Let me know as I'm still watching this swap.

@angkb Sure, the photos can be on good quality printer paper.

How fun! I'm in.

I like to see the picture printed with the story about it together. I did that in another swap and it looks so cool having it on that one sheet of paper.
