If you are addicted to the Art-o-mat but aren't lucky enough to have access to one here is your chance create, send and receive Art-o-mat style pieces yourself. We will each have 2 partners and will send 1 handmade art-o-mat sized piece to each. All arts and crafts are welcome (hence this is a craft-o-mat)! Please use your imagination! Pieces might range from little books, tiny quilts, hand carvings, photography, paintings, drawings, zines, printmaking, paper arts, small sculptures, cast pewter etc. (I've even seen handmade soap and jewelry but please tailor these to your recipient as some people have allergies and metal sensitivities.) Hopefully there will be many I haven't even dreamed of yet. Since art-o-mat is an example of one's best artwork (and this should be too!) it will be sender's choice. SIZE DETAILS-- You need to follow the rules for art-o-mat pieces which are designed to be vended through refurbished cigarette machines. Please read the Art-omat guidelines page for more information and yes, final pieces (or the outer box) should be 2 1/8" x 3 1/4" x 7/8" (54mm x 82mm x 21mm). I know the dimensions are daunting but please do your best. I don't think anyone will mark you down for being off an eighth of an inch. The easiest solution is probably the handy box template that you can make with card stock. The acetate covering required by art-o-mat is optional. Above all, please don't sign up unless you will follow through! The great ratings expected for group membership are expected here with no recent 3s or 1s. I will check profiles before assigning partners. Please don't hesitate to PM with any questions.

This interests me, but I"m a little fuzzy on the directions. Is there somewhere I can go to see what we are talking about? Just so I can be more accurate on the concept..

Super cool. There is an Art-o-mat close to me. I am going to have to check it out. Watching this swap for sure...fabulous, unique idea. I think the box could be a work of art too!

We don't have Art-o-mat in UK, either :(. Lucky for both of us, then, that we have access to the fantastic combination of @fieldstudio31 & Swap-Bot :D.

Glad that there is interest in the swap. I prescreened profiles yesterday so I can assign partners quickly when the swap closes. The art-o-mat swap was great fun and I look forward to seeing your craft-o-mat creations!

I had a blast making my boxes last night. I am excited about the next step too. I an really enjoying this swap. Can't wait to see what others do.

I have tried to get to my local Art-o-mat, but it is only open during our monthly art hops.

What a great swap!! I hope you will host another Craft-o-mat in the near future! I will finally be traveling to a city with an Art-o-Mat this next week. Hope I will be able to get to the location during my trip.
