Swap categories: Inchies
Number of people in swap:14
Location:International
Type:Type 2: Flat mail
Last day to signup/drop:April 30, 2010
Date items must be sent by:May 14, 2010

Description:

Show your partner the whole picture with only 9 inches of it.

You will cut out 9 inchies (1" x 1") from an image that is more than 3"x3" (letter size is fine, or bigger, or even a little smaller) and mount/glue them on a piece of card stock; white or a co-ordinating color. You can mount them flat or raised, it's up to you. You can arrange them in a grid, in a line, just haphazardly, or however you'd like.

These inchies should be UNEMBELLISHED! All 9 should be cut from the same image; a magazine page, photo, book image, whatever you want. It's sender's choice for the image; just make sure the parts you cut out tell the story of the whole picture.

You will need to mail this in a hard mailer or otherwise ensure it does not bend in the mail.

Requirements: 4.8 rating or higher. No recent 1's or 3's without explanation. Newbies with well-filled out profiles are welcome. International!

Do you paste them on in a random fashion or do you sort of separate out the inchies while keeping the picture whole and clear? Not sure if I'm explaining this properly.

Also could you make it international? Please, pretty please?

user2637 04/18/2010 #

@gofeen making this USA only was an attempt to keep the postage down as I'm spending too much on swaps lately. :/ If there are more votes for international and the USA people don't mind (please chime in!) then I will change it. Also, you can copy the idea and make an international/Europe only/etc if you'd like.

As for the pasting, it can be done in a random manner if you want. The original image you use should be more than 9x9", so there are gaps in the info you are showing your partner. Your choice of where to cut and how to arrange should present the entire idea of the image to your partner, letting her/his brain fill in the gaps. Make more sense?

Sorry, meant to say the image should be larger than 3"x3". That makes more sense. :)

International would be fine by me, since it really would be all that expensive to mail either way.

Happy swapping and crafting, everyone! :) Karen

Okay, I'm changing it to International. Any U.S. based folks who can't afford or don't want to risk the chance of international postage, PM me and we can do a private swap. :)

I made my collage of inchies from a thrift store book I found of small photos. I hope this is OK because I'm new at "image inchies." The photos and the background tell a story to me so I hope my partner finds a story in them too. ?????
