Description:

There is something special about hand carved stamps. The are works of art in and of themselves and can add so much to art, mail art, even simple notes. So this is your chance to create and receive original work by other SB artists for your collection.

You will send a set of three hand carved stamps to your partner and of course receive a set too. The stamps should relate to one another. (Such as owl, branch and leaf carving or a post box, letter and a stamp.) Please use your imagination--more than I have with my simple examples!

Please use durable materials that will allow your partner to print away for a long time!

Of the three stamps at least one has to have more detail and be larger. Plan to use at least 4"x3" of carving material for the swap. (You can of course send more than three stamps. I'm sure most will prefer quality over quantity though!)

Please do not send simple type (A,b,c,1,2,3) for this swap. You can send it as an extra but we are looking for images this time.

Sender's choice but please do look at your partners profile for inspiration if at all possible. (Partners do get a 5 though based on sending three stamps in a timely manner.)

Skill--If you are new to carving please do not send your very first stamps for this exchange. Have fun and make a few for yourself while learning.
We should all send stamps that are hard to let go of!

Ratings--You must have at least 10 type three swaps and impeccable ratings. I will check profiles before assigning partners. No flaking folks!

OMG, I wish I knew how to make these!! I've always wanted to learn as I love them!! If anyone wants to make me a set, since I can't join the swap being new at it, we can set up a private swap! Perhaps trading the stamps for something in my Etsy shop or the like! Please message me if interested;)

Now that partners are assigned please send a message if you have any questions or concerns. It's the best way to get in touch with me. Good luck with your carvings. I look forward to seeing them!

I'll be posting a hand carving swap for the Zines, Mail Art & other Cool Stuff group soon! If there's interest I'll post a single stamp one that's open to all as well.
