Cut a page of watercolor paper 4 inches x 5 inches. Paint or draw anything you think your partner will like after looking at their profile. Use any medium you choose. Keep in mind that on the front side of the page the left margin should be left for binding and on the back of the page the right side will be bound. You may paint in the margins and on the back, if you like...and be sure to use the back to put the title of the piece, and sign it with your name, user name and location. Most importantly,,,,HAVE FUN!

This is 4" across and 5" in length. Fatbook means chunky so are we supposed to paint/draw then decorate it with chunky items?

JoyAnne for the purposes of these swaps I have only made and received paintings with no embelishments. The intent is to swap art on a page 5 inches across and 4 inches high. The artwork is 4x4 with the extra inch on the left hand side for binding . The 1 inch binding/margin can be painted as continuation of the picture or left unpainted. Depending how they are used that 1 inch may not be seen so should not be an integral part of the art work . If you look at my flickr you will see some examples with and without painted margin.

make this type of page alot and im a little confussed that you say 4x4 then 4x5 . they shoulde be a square size 4"x4"
