Does it have to be a box from candy? Can't we use envelopes or something we already have on hand?

keroleen73 07/19/2007 #

The Smarties box I've got here is 2 1/2" by 1" by 1/2". Different countries do different sizes!

(Ah, I just noticed, I can't take part anyway, due to my vacation -_-)

rengawk 07/19/2007 #

When I first read the description, I assume it means a movie-sized box like sold at the Dollar Tree - but that's my imagery, and other regions/countrys may have no idea what I'm talking about...maybe I'll go buy a box later and eat the candy and measure it (empty of course, I love candy, and nice fresh chewy metly junior mints sound really good right now) and see what the dimensions are ^^

International may be heavy, I may have to see what my pocketbook allows when this swap comes closer (sometimes its better to send flat rate envie from the US for $11 and jam all kinds of extras than spend $7 just to mail some fabric, or gum/mints...oops that's my RL sneaking in there...) So I know that its not guaranteed I'd have to send overseas, its just something I try to remind myself for international swaps so I don't get too disappointed if I have to drop... =/

So if I drop its due to cash restraints, not because I don't completely and totally love this idea! =)

does it have to be a candy box? what about a box the same size? i do like the idea though! <3

Agnetha 07/19/2007 #

Can I make a wish....I mean I'm into jewellery making and would love things that has to do with that. I love to participate but then I'm not into buttons (for example)....

krisssssyyyyyyyyyyy 07/19/2007 #

Ok how about a sandwitch baggy :) That should be universal.I'll change it then to that, one of those sndwitch size baggies.

Agnetha 07/20/2007 #

What's a sandwich baggy?????

kittenmeowmeow 07/20/2007 #

lol. it's like a ziploc bag that you put sandwiches in to take for your lunch or on picnics. am i right?
Kris- we have to fill an entire sandwich bag? how full is "full" here? those sandwich baggies puff out a lot more than they let on.

Agnetha 07/21/2007 #

Oh....we don't use those ziploc bags here in Sweden...

krisssssyyyyyyyyyyy 07/22/2007 #

LOL really cant win here :) Ok lets see, Ahhhhh Ive got it :) I'm assuming everyone pees right :) How about a toilet paper roll tube filled. The roll that the toilet paper comes on. Decorate it and fill it minimum half full. :) I'll add it to the discription.

harleygirl 07/22/2007 #

Ha, ha, ha!!! This is too funny! Poor Kris! How did your swap become so complicated?! These are the funniest swap comments I've ever read!

kittenmeowmeow 07/23/2007 #

lol!!!! i hope i'll get through my toilet paper roll but the time of the swap. lol! i was saving them for my hamster maze, but i think i can spare one. i agree with harleygirl.. poor kris!!! we still love you!

kittenmeowmeow 07/23/2007 #

agentha? what do you use in sweden?

rengawk 07/23/2007 #

Oh Kris that is too funny, I almost needed to go and pee from laughing, very creative! ^^

krisssssyyyyyyyyyyy 07/26/2007 #

I'm still waiting to see what they use in Sweden to hold their sandwitches :)

Nanamint 07/31/2007 #

wow Kris, I guess Swedish sand-witches may be dangerous ;o) (forgive my lousy pun instinct)

By the way, can those tiny things be grouped together or do they have to wander randomly inside the paper roll ? I mean, can we send a tiny-stickers sheet? or flower seeds in a little envelope (which would be slipped inside the roll) if our partner is fond of gardening ?

kittenmeowmeow 08/ 1/2007 #

i wouldn't mind. especially tiny things like seeds. lol. i wouldn't want to be sorting my toilet paper tiny thigns for hours looking for the seeds.. lol

Rillaith 08/ 2/2007 #

i wouldn't want to be sorting my toilet paper tiny things for hours looking for the seeds..

Although, if you do, please get someone to video it and post it on YouTube for us all to giggle at too ;)

Rillaith 08/ 2/2007 #

Oh yeah - how big's a quarter? ;) (No, seriously..?!)

krisssssyyyyyyyyyyy 08/ 2/2007 #

lol Yes you can group the tiny things :) A quarter, 25 cent piece, a large coin :)

kittenmeowmeow 08/ 4/2007 #

it's about in inch in diameter i would say. i'm not sure. how many centimeters.. actaully it's 2.5 cm in diameter. i just measured.

Nanamint 08/23/2007 #

nooo come on, it's really that big ?? about the diameter of a cherry ? I would have thought it was smaller.

tkoufus 08/23/2007 #

a quarter would be about the size of an aussie 20 cent piece if that helps any aussies out there who are in the swap

tkoufus 08/23/2007 #

actually i think our 20cent is a touch larger but i am sure if we used our 20 cent to gauge it on it would be ok. its 2.5cm, i measured it

tkoufus 08/23/2007 #

sheesh, guess who types before they think properly :)

user1689 08/24/2007 #

This might be a stupid question, but do you address and put a stamp on the actual decorated tube itself, or do you need to put it in a rectangular box to get it through the mail? Is it OK staying cylindrical?

tkoufus 08/24/2007 #

i would reckon to put it in a post pak tyoe thing at the post office. the roll itself may not be strong enough and would get squashed, ripped etc etc and damaged in transit. if it has to go overseas i dont think it would survive without being inside a padded bag or something. i am going to put mine in something from the post office as likely i will have to send it overseas anyway.

Kasha 08/25/2007 #

I am rpeparing mine to be sent and will try to pack it in a way that can't get damaged too - ^ ^

WeBees 08/27/2007 #

Please don't send flower seeds, it is not allowed internationally. There are big problems with seeds from other areas becoming invasive species. If you check with your postal service you will see it isn't allowed for any country. Seed Beads Okay though! He heee....
