Description:

Who likes to try new flavorings for foods? Let's send spices representing our country, state, or heritage. Spices must be new and sealed. You may either send a jar/shaker or an equivalent amount in spice or seasoning packets or pouches. Let's try to send our partners something new and not send single-ingredient spices that are commonly available (basil, ground cinnamon, etc.).

What to send:

  • 1 new, sealed and in the original packaging spice shaker or equivalent amount in spice or seasoning packets ($3-$5)
  • 2 partners each
  • A recipe or serving suggestion for your spices
  • A short note explaining why you chose what you did. (Writing your name and swap name on a post-it just doesn't cut the mustard.)

Swapper requirements:

  • You must have a minimum of a 4.9 rating with no recent 3's or unexplained 1's.
  • You must make sure prior to signing up that it is LEGAL to send spices in and out of your country.
  • Be sure to check expiration dates before sending.
  • If the package or directions is printed in a language other than English, please let your partner know what is printed on the package so they can enjoy your spices to the fullest.

These things are also very important in sending out a nice swap, and they are considered requirements of this swap:

  • Be courteous by sending our swaps on time and rating our partners when we receive. In the rare circumstance that you must be late, it is expected that you will contact both your partner and the swap host.

  • Package your swap appropriately to protect the contents. Zip-top baggies are smart for containing unexpected breaks and leaks. Boxes rather than envelopes should be used for fragile items. Glass jars should be carefully wrapped and boxed. Even powdered things like spices can make a mess; so please put these in a plastic baggie or something similar to protect your package.

We all appreciate the efforts taken to keep our swaps enjoyable!
