Description:

Who wants to get a one of a kind fabric postcard? The requirements are easy. You make one and receive one. The fabric postcard needs to measure 4 x 6 inches at the time of mailing. The front can be any design or amount of stitching that you wish to do. The back needs to be a light colored fabric like muslin or heavy card stock so that you can easily see the address and information. There needs to be a middle layer. You can use batting, however you are going to need to make the back stiff like heavy card stock so that it will go through the mail with out getting torn up. Some people put cardboard in the middle. I like to use Pellon Peltex. It is stiff and makes a very nice stabilizer. You can find this at most fabric stores. I have even bought it at Wal-Mart. Please write your partner a cheerful message. Make sure that you write the word postcard on the back. I use a permanent black pen to write on the back of the ones I send.

You can mail these to someone in the USA with a first class stamp. Internationally I would put it in an envelope. It usually costs about 98 cents to mail. You can put them in an envelope if you want to. I recommend sending them in envelopes. Sometimes the machines at the post office leave black ink on them.

Send something you would like to receive. You must have a rating of 4.8 or better to participate. If you are a newbie please have a completed profile for me to read. I will then decide if you can participate. No flakers please. Open to international participants.

You can find instructions on my website on how to make these. Go to the link above or to http://postypals.blogspot.com

Holly, just wondering if I can do a post card with a technique I use called fabric paper. I fuse tissue and fabric together with various wrapping papers sandwiched in between. It's not your convention fabric post card, but it is fabric. What do you think? Coleen Franks http://vintageterrace2.blogspot.com/
