This is completely inspired by Ayne - a fabulous swapper and member of Jewish Swappers! ;) I remember Purim as a time to dress up, go to the synogogue, get candy and cookies - helping my grandparents make hamentashen or 'Hamens Ears" from scratch, reading the Megilla and hearing the story of Esther, shaking the gragger until the adults got headaches. ;) In this swap, you will send one partner something to celebrate Purim. You can find more info here. You can make or buy hamentashen, send a set of cards you made, create or buy a mask that might represent esther or vashti, make a noise maker out of dried beans....any idea you might have based on the traditions of Purim. Also, mitzvah's are a big part of Purim so maybe a tzedaka box, kosher chocolates or wine (if legal!). Something handmade or store bought - entirely up to you! However! You must send a note explaining why you sent your goodies and how they relate to the holiday of Purim! You must be a member of the Jewish Swappers in good standing, have no-no sends, and create a package worth about $10 (give or take). Keep in mind, there is no country on the planet that does not have Jews, and our group is International (especially, for those sending baked goods!!!). Also, please check your partner's profiles on this one - allergies, keep kosher, etc. Any questions or comments, please let me know! |
