road less traveled

I wanted to join a Photo Scavenger Hunt, but found some others too limiting, so I'm starting one of my own.

Here are the details:

--Take pictures of 15 things from this list of 30 ideas:

1.Wet

2.Clouds

3.Sunrise

4.Road sign

5.Community

6.Reflection

7.Night shot

8.Old ruins

9.Tasty

10.Shiny

23.Road less traveled

24.Up in the sky

25.Crunchy

26.Words

27.Walk 5 minutes from your house and shoot!

28.Noon

29.Warm

30.From your front door

--Use whatever camera you have and are comfortable with, digital or film

--Print them in whatever way you are used to doing, either from your home printer or commercially, 4"x6" would be a nice size

--be creative--photoshop them if you are so inclined, or not (this means 'digitally manipulate the images' using Photoshop or some other application)

--mail them to your partner

If you print them on your home printer, be sure they are completely dry before stacking them. You can put them in a small inexpensive photo album if you like. You can print them on glossy or matte photo paper or heavy cardstock, whatever your artistic needs demand. It's also nice to mount them on black acid-free paper with corners. Be creative and thoughtful of your partner, you could e-mail them and ask if they'd like an album or mounting or just in an envelope.

Extra pictures or items should earn you a heart. Mailing on time should earn you a 5. Communication with your partner is important if there is any possibility your package will take a long time to arrive there.

Newbies are welcome if they write me and show that they understand the importance of fulfilling their swap. Everyone deserves a first chance but no one is happy when they get burned!

This is an international swap!

No-sends, don't bother to sign up unless you can explain yourself to me. Others-minimum 4.9 rating required. We all want to get something back when we work hard to mail a nice package out!

Let's have a fun swap!

Hi Twobluecrowns, thank you for this swap, I love doing photo scavenger hunts. Your photo of the forest is very much like the one out the back of where we live that we walk in several times a week. Faery's live in ours do they live in yours as well? :-)))

nicoleblack 07/ 9/2007 #

THANK YOU!! Oh, man, I wanted to join that other swap so much but I didn't want to have to have the pictures professionally printed. And I really like your items to hunt for.

carol 07/ 9/2007 #

Love it! This will be fun! Thanks for putting this one on.

Cnvingltlbtch 07/10/2007 #

i love doing these count me in...

twobluecrows 07/12/2007 #

Thanks everyone! I'm happy to do this, too! I love scavanger hunts and I love my digital camera, so it works for me! Angel Faery Kathleen, I'm sure there are fairies in those woods! They are in back of my artist friend's house.

twobluecrows 07/13/2007 #

Yes, this is an international swap. Cyn

omabluebird 07/15/2007 #

Your guidelines are so great! I look forward to getting on with taking my photos. Fun!

user7612 07/17/2007 #

Thank you for this swap from me too. I really appreciate how doable you have made it. I am going to start taking photos right away!

twobluecrows 07/18/2007 #

I was wondering if anyone would like to receive their pictures online instead of printed and in the mail? Some people get their pics 'printed' on cds or online through services like Wal-Mart, etc. That could be an option you can post in the comments here, or in your profile for future reference.

I did a swap a while back that was an online photo journal, but it didn't work out as well as I wanted, but pics might be easier. Let me know and if you like the idea, put it as an option for your partner.

Hi all, I just want to let you all kow that I'm watching the member list, and everyone who has less than 4.9 has communicated well with me and I'm counting on them to be good swappers. I'm encouraging communication, so everyone, please post a comment now and then, and make sure to e-mail your partners to let them know how things are going: when you mail them their pictures, when they should arrive, etc. Let's be more than user id's and ratings!

Communication is the real key to good swapping! Cyn

i'm excited...i just bought a new digital camera - one that fits in my purse - this weekend and I can't wait to use it. I was using film - but that was getting expensive. Now i just need a photo printer and I'll be all set!!

MookieFairstone 07/23/2007 #

I have only one more picture to take to get to 15...woohooo!

twobluecrows 07/27/2007 #

graphic_cactus--You can get prints made at Wal-Mart and some other local places like maybe Walgreens in their photo center--they can take the pics right off your memory card and it's usually less than 30 cents a print--I think our WalMart is down to 19 cents now. I do that sometimes when I've taken a shot while away from home and just can't wait to see it up large--you can view them on a screen full size, too, and choose the ones you want to print--or not!

I'll be assigning partners the day after tomorrow, so get ready!

I'm excited about this swap--we have a lot of good swappers joined, and a sprinkling of eager newbies who have all communicated with me, so I hope they are on the ball and committed to do good things here. It's all about fun, so lets make sure we make it fun for everyone! Upload some of the pictures you are taking to our gallery, too so we can all see! Just make them 72dpi res and about 3'x5' or 4"x6" that way they won't be too big to see on the screen.

AngelFaeryKathleen 08/10/2007 #

Hi Lilybugsgrandme, Firstly thank you for so many photos of your family and your life. I keep looking at the photo of yourself and I just do NOT believe you are a grandma to that sweet wee girl, you must be her mum. Thank you ;-))

Dianna 08/11/2007 #

I had a blast taking my pictures over the past 3 weekends! I made some in color and some in black and white. I have 3 more prints to make this weekend, then they're in the mail to Samantha on Monday...

twobluecrows 08/13/2007 #

kellibear 08/16/2007 #

I just wanted to let my partner know that I accidently hit the sent button and I have not sent mine out yet. I am almost done and I plan to take my pics to Walmart to get them developed and then I will mail them asap. Sorry for the confusion and this is just a fun swap.

Pocketgnome 08/16/2007 #

Hey, I have kind of a stupid question, but is the swap partner I am assigned to send to the same person who sends to me?
