Description:

This will be the second swap for this kind of thing, I will continue to run them every few months until no one is interested anymore. Each one though will be themed differently, but basically the same rules apply to each.

For this swap you will be 1. MAKING A Fabric ATC (Artist Trading Card)using any technique, method or style, and 2. ADDING A little something vintage related. (to clarify - this does not need to be handmade, it can be sore brought, or things you have at home!)

Thus the theme for this swap is VINTAGE, any type of VINTAGE theme will be okay. The something extra can be anything from a couple of embellishments, stickers, punches, images, fabric pieces, cardstock, stamped images, whatever you decide on. Just as long as the main feature is realted to VINTAGE in some way!

Card size is the standard 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" atc. If you have never made a fabric card before and need some advice just email me and I will be glad to help.

This will be 1 (one) card and 1 (one) something small too 3 (three) partners, if you would like, add something a little extra to try to earn a heart from your partners!

International members welcome! Newbies too (please have a filled out profile).I will ban anyone that is questionable or has a lot of no-sends, please email me if you see someone or you want to join and have recent no-sends. (Thanks)

If you have questions, thoughts, or problems please let me know asap!

I have been asked a lot about some simple fabric techniques, so... There are numerous techniques, styles and process that can be used, most of which are the same for paper as they are for fabric. However I will describe 2 techniques for you, both simple and a lot of fun to make. Number 1: Stamping Quite simply you stamp (using any technique) onto a light coloured fabric, to get a good image, often I have found it best to use acrylic paints than stamp pads, as the fabric absorbs a lot of the colour and acrylic still allows the brillance of the colour to show. Once you have stamped your image, cut the fabric to a standard atc size (3.5x2.5"), and then glue the fabric to sturdy cardstock, embellish and volia - one fabric atc made and ready to go! Number 2: Collage This technique requires NO SEWING (my favourite way), but you can sew if you like. On sturdy cardstock, glue fabric that is all within a theme/colour into a eye pleasing collage, trim the edges, add embellishments and once again another card is made. Oh what the heck... Number 3: Little sewn cushion atc This one can be either machine stitched or hand stitched. Basically, using either one of the methods above, or even using applique or quilting techniques, create the fornt piece to required size, than attach to a backing fabric sandwhiched with felt. Stitch around the edge and some do so within the image itself, and again you have a beautiful card. All of these methods are easy and can be taken further if you wish. I hope this helps you out a little.

I have never made an ATC before nor seen one (well except for pictures on the net). I am embroidering and embellishing mine with bits and peices, hope that's ok.

I am delighted you are adding more fabric swaps so I have time to think about them for awhile and shop for specialty fabric and whatnot. I like your ideas Stacey, keep going. I'm not always on the internet so if you could let me know when you add more starting with #5, okay?
