Description:

I'm sick of depressing news. Give me something happy to read.

So here's the deal:

All you have to do is cut out a candid article from the newspaper (candid means happy, so no murder stories--think along the lines of "Firefighter Saves Cat From Tree"), put it in an envelope, and send it off to your partner. Anything goes, but the article must be in English. You only need one article, but hearts can be given to people who send more than one or include a little note about the paper you got it from, what you think of the article, etc. Anything extra is nice. The clipping does not have to be big! Even a tiny corner article will do (and most of these articles are tiny anyway).

Icky details: [I will accept any swapper with a 4.75 rating or above, with no recent no-sends. New swappers are welcome with a filled-out profile.]

I hope everyone has fun with this swap! =]

Watching. Thank you for this swap! I'd like an entire newspaper of 'good' things bc i think they far outweigh the bad. Imo, it would be nice to see.

Very nice idea for a swap, but FYI: candid means "Impartial and free from prejudice; Straightforward, open and sincere; Not posed or rehearsed"... not "happy"

But Good news is always a good thing!

Also (now I'm going to seem really pushy--but it's meant in the best of intentions)...and I've posted this everywhere I see coordinators telling people how to get hearts:

Some swap coordinators are not reading the swap coordinator information page thoroughly. (when you go to Create a Swap) This is what it says .

"...IMPORTANT: A swap coordinator can help their users determine how to rate a swap accurately, but they should not make specific rules about when to give a heart.

It is up to the receiver to decide if they want to give a heart..."

sorry to use a word incorrectly, i suppose i just used candid in the context of meaning more "carefree" (candid photos, etc.) and i guess i've kind of added a connotation of happiness to it.

but to each his/her own!

also, i don't think i am pushing people to give hearts, but i did list options. i didn't think that was specifically breaking the rules..

how about magazine clippings? or newspapers only?

is it an article about something happy, or something mundane-turned-exciting? if so, then go for it.
