Description:

This is a simple and EASY way for newbies to get started, someone to give their ratings a boost, or just a GREAT way to enjoy swapping at it's simplest:

You've all seen them- vending machines. Everywhere you go. They range in price and content, but the basics are the same... you put in coins, you get a random toy, stuffed into a little plastic capsule.

Some machines vend stickers or 'jewlery' for a quarter or two, and others vend collectable figurines for a dollar or two. It's all in what you see and what you like.

In THIS swap, it's all about what your PARTNER sees and likes! aha!

What could you do with the kinds of silly things a toy capsule might contain? Add bits and parts to an ATC or ACEO? Weave them into a 'surprise' yarn ball? Use them in sculpture or just as a knick knack on the desk? As a part of a diorama?

It doesn't matter. Your partners will invest an unknown number of quarters, and you will receieve TWO packages in the mail... and what you get, I hope, will challenge your creativity!

I will place a six dollar limit on this swap, so no one feels forced to overspend... you will be sending THREE items to each partner, for a total of Six items you've found from a vending machine (or machines) near you!

You're welcome to send more, or less, if you find things you particularly interesting or useful.

You should include a small note to your partner- say hello! Suggest some things they might enjoy about the items you chose, or useful things to DO with them if you have ideas...

Welcome to the WACKY world of Capsule Toys...

Have FUN!

If you'd like to send your items in packaging (carefully wrapped if breakable!) instead of the toy capsule... that's a good idea! You never know what that tiny toy capsule might come in handy for... Else, you can feel free to mail it IN the capsule, just for the joy of opening it. It's alllllll up to you!

I've been wanting to do a swap like this - hooray!!

This is a cool idea for a swap!(^_^)Can I request my partners leave my goodies IN the capsules? Thanks bunches!!

wickedfaerie 05/25/2007 #

great idea!! i'm glad to know i'm not the only one who loves to get stuff from those machines!! (i drive my husband crazy 'cause i've always got to stop and take a look!)

i'm really looking forward to this swap!!

one request tho', if i may...please don't send the type that has those sticky things that stick to the wall and everything else...i've got 4 cats and 2 dogs...so the sticky things would be covered in critter hair almost as soon as i open it! (i learned from experience!) also, my cats think that stuff is to play with and eat which isn't the best idea for them...

thanks! raven aka wicked faerie

This is such an awesome swap idea! I'm a capsule toy fanatic too. :) If my potential partners could leave the capsules on, that would be great... but I know shipping can be a pain... Thanks either way!

Wow...how I miss spending money in them machines. Great idea for a swap.

I'd really love it if the capsules could be left on...if possible.

Thanks very much in advance. Hugs, Kelly :-)

Okay! Partners have been assigned! :) If you're aiming for a heart, you might peek at your partner's notes/messages above, and/or their profile, to be sure you're sending something particularly fitting/pleasant for them!

Above all- Have FUN with this Swap!!

If you have any problems (don't get anything from your partner, can't resolve an issue, etc) just let me know! You can message me and I will help out, no problemo!

Oh gawds this was fun!! I had a blast finding the machines too! I thought I knew 'all' the good ones, but you never realize how many are OUT there, till you actually LOOK for them! yikes! Sooooo fun!

omletdufromage and Ophelia73, yours should be in the mail tomorrow or the next day- I gotta find a way to package them safely and soundly. >:)

kirigami 06/ 6/2007 #

ophelia73 06/ 7/2007 #

omletdufromage and WilMar,

The packages are in the mail. I hope you enjoy!

user8586 07/10/2007 #

Packages are in the mail! I'm sorry, I had two accounts and didn't realize it until it was pointed out to me. Also, as a newbie, I forgot to include any note or anything but basically i live along the coast of north carolina at the beach so i included a little something extra as a suprise for being so late in sending! hope you enjoy!
