*** this swap has been updated *** (please read the update below the swap description as well as the comments) Some of us swappers have babies, kiddos, nieces or nephews, and I know that many of us are handy with the knitting needles, papercrafts, sewing machines, paints, etc. Let's make something special for the kids! Here's how it will work. You sign up for the swap. You immediately comment on the swap's page and put the age, sex and anything else of interest (ie, Joey likes helicopters and soccer) about the little one in your life that you think would like to receive a swap goodie. Then when swap partners are assigned come back to this page to get info on the kiddo you are supposed to send a surprise to. The final package should include at least one handmade item (a softie, knit socks, a journal, wood toy) and a couple other goodies (candy, stickers, something age appropriate). Let me know if you have any other ideas for this swap. It certainly isn't too late to add to it if necessary. btw, I am giving us plenty of time to get the info on the swap kiddo and then make the custom stuff. Have funzies! *** updated 6/28 *** please read the comments below before you sign up. we have decided to include families with multiple children and have come up with a way to do so. i am sorry for the confusion and i hope you all stick around for what is sure to be a great swap!

my kiddo is 9 months old and pretty much likes anything. his name is max and he especially likes ducks, stars and ladybugs (ladybirds to those of you overseas). happy swapping!

my not so little sweetpea will soon be 2. Arlo loves bears and babies and music (especially guitar and drums). Looking forward to crafting & swapping.

I have two babies :) My daughter Jordan is 5 years old and loves anything PINK. If it has her name on it, she is even happier. My son Jake is two years old and loves Dora and Barney. His room has a firetruck theme.

What a fun idea for a swap. My kids love getting surprises :)

I have 2 little girls, 6 & 7. They like anything girlie, crafts, art, and softball.

I have 4 boys...17yrs, 7yrs, 5yrs and 4yrs. They love crafts, books, anything fun. They love bugs and to camp at the beach. They make their own books for their own stories.

ok people, maybe we need to address the multiple kid thing. i certainly wouldn't mind making and buying things for several kiddos, but i am sure there are those out there who do. i wish we could set it up so that if you have ten kiddos then you make ten packages, but we can't. any ideas?

user1962 06/28/2006 #

My Iris is 19 months, she loves things that can be built in several pieces, rattles, balls, toys with music and books with animals, babies or grown up faces... she is still discovering the toys she loves best!

;o)

I was wondering about the multiple child issue too (I have 3), is it possible for those of us with multiples to sign up more than once, so we are sending to as many children as we have? Does that make any sense? I am totally new to Swap-Bot so I don't know what can be done.

user925 06/29/2006 #

nope. we can't sign up more than once. i guess we could just agree that if you have more than one kiddo the gift you receive for each of your kiddos might be smaller than that for a single child. make sense? i will update the description. it is totally understandable not to want to make stuff for a few kids, but i think it would be fun and sort of a challenge to make things for a gang. everyone else, don't feel bad if you want to drop out at this point. i will email everyone to let you all know that things have kinda changed. silly me, i didn't even think about those of you with more than one child. sorry, and i hope this will work for you all.

Since mine are little, I would prefer something for my 5 year old. She would totally appreciate it and my son (whose 2) wouldn't get it anyway. So let's just say I have one child for the purpose of this swap :) You could maybe partner up people with "multiples" so that they are sending and receiving the same. Just a thought? Whatever you decide I still want to play :) lorib

Hey~
I have done a swap very similar to this...never saw the package that was supposedly sent to us. We had fun loading our swap box full of kids stuff and sending it out. I also know my boys will not have a problem, and nor will I, if there is just one thing, like a softie. It can be a softie used for reward for the day or something like that. they just love the idea of something coming in the mail even if it a swap for just me. So I don't have a problem whatsoever doing this swap...even though I have a big guy, my little guys who are the more interested. I think we are all creative enough moms to come up with something our swap partners will be happy with. With the other kid swap I did, there was a price limit and that seemed to work fine.

user1940 06/29/2006 #

hey i have only 1 little bean myself but i'm all for including families. I'm in. Let's play.

user925 06/29/2006 #

so, let's just say if you end up LUCKY enough to send your swap to a family with more than one kiddo then just keep it simple and either make something for them to share (perhaps something interactive?) or send everyone something little. i have no problem filling in the blanks if it comes to that. i don't think i could stand the thought of a little one expecting pressies in the mail and nothing showing up. keep the comments up to date once the swap starts and i will make sure that each and every one of our special little people gets a little gift.

user1372 06/29/2006 #

My girls are used to sharing everything anyway!

Queenbee 06/29/2006 #

My boys are excited and ready to go already! THe things they want to make are incredible. Whoever gets us will have a wonderful box to open.

JaneR 06/29/2006 #

I have 2 girls, ages 11 and 8 and one boy who is 3 1/2. They love arts and crafts and little softies. They will gladly share anything that arrives for them.

Hey! I'm excited about this swap. I have a 13-month-old little boy... let's see, he really likes things that make noise (shakers, drums, harmonicas & whistles, you name it), and he's very into things that can be put into, or taken out of, other things, right now. Whoever gets me, let's be in touch about my address, because we're moving at the very end of August-- but I couldn't resist this swap!

user2173 07/14/2006 #

Hi! Rafael will be 3 in September. he loves arts and crafts. He loves wood tractores (I think that's the way to write this), cars, trucks, motorcicles...and averything related to cars (made out of wood or fafrics). he loves waldorf toys/dolls/softies and all kinds of stuff related to this. Well, he will love anything that will be sent to him...

holy moly. max just received his very first swap package today from arlo and ella. he is one very happy baby! the package was put together with so much care and love. it included some camilia teething remedy, some little ladybug notepads (for me), some little ladybug buttons (for me, too), a handmade felt ball with a bell inside, a little home made counting book with tons of cool stickers, and a perfect, huge, handmade ladybug made out of a gorgeous red and white cotton print and black flannel. o the joy! max adores his new ladybug! thank you, thank you, thank you, ella and arlo! much love, max and jessica

Wow! Arlo received a fantastic package from Miranda today. He was ecstatic to open the parcel and find Mrs. Olive Doggie -handmade of felt and great colors!i love her pink paws and collar tag. She came along with a gourd shaker to add to our instrument collection as well as a mix cd which we have yet to listen to and some stickers. How sad, my kids were the only ones in the swap to get stiffed. Thankfully they are 2 and 5 and they really have no clue. Just the principle though.

My girls each received a gorgeous bracelet from Lia yesterday. Thanks again!!
