Description:

It's back! Let's swap again!

Here's how to play:

You will need 25 blank postcards, in good condition. No ad cards, extremely thin cards, written-on cards, cards folded on the corners, or damaged cards. SEND GOOD STUFF!

Cards can be any subject: boxed set, touristy, art, animals, etc - this is NOT a profile based swap, since we will be sealing our envelopes before partners are assigned.

Before partners are assigned, pack five envelopes with five blank, unwritten postcards each. Make sure you have enough postage on the envelope - could be an extra ounce. Include a note that says your name and the swap name so your partner can rate you.

When partners are assigned, address the envelope (take care not to write too heavy and impress on the postcards!) and drop in the mailbox. Quick turnaround is because we prepared our five envelopes in advance!!

This swap IS newbie friendly as well as open to folks who need a second chance - just no 1s or 3s that are recent and unresolved. If you flaked on your swaps or ratings in the last round, I'll be bumping you from this one!

I will angel for anyone who has a bad experience with their partner...

Newbie question....

I have a huge collection of vintage postcards. I am old. I have sons, that when I croak they will put them in the trash.

I want to use the darn things before I croak.

And I don't want to sell them to some antique dealer who will "give" me 10 bucks for 1000 postcards.

They are yellowed with age, are these acceptable? I would send postcards that are not damaged, but old postcards unused, and fine to mail from the 1900s to about 1970s.

Hi! Yes, you can send them out as long as they are not creased or damaged! Yellowed with age is fine, musty or scratched or written on is not. Keep in mind you’ll be getting just as many blank cards back as you’re sending out, so if the goal is to “de stash” (get rid of cards) this swap may not be the thing!

I'm sure my swap partner my accidentally get more than 5 postcards....

What a great question! I would SWOON at the chance to see those old, yellowed postcards!

I have just joined this swap, I have my New Jersey address listed on my profile, please use that, thank you.

Are newbies allowed to join? I’m been on postcrossing forever and would love to do this.

Mamakoala2017 06/14/2023 #

I see it says newbie friendly but wanted to make sure it was okay before joining :)

Meowsha 06/14/2023 #

Yes! Newbie friendly means newbie friendly! :)

@Planetearthstars30 that’s OK! Please reach out to your partners though once they are assigned so there’s no confusion if they don’t make it to your profile, since this is a quick turnaround senders choice swap I can’t guarantee your partners will know to check your profile for the NJ address!!

@QuetzalcoatlsMom Ooo, I would love to see all your vintage postcards! The ones that are yellowed with age are some of the best! I frequent antique stores with my mom searching for vintage postcards that are used and unused. Especially ones with the old Holiday Inn signs on them!

Would also love vintage!
