Description:

I've been wanting to participate in a swap where I can 1) Get a nice amount of hot drinks 2) Not have to pay ridiculous amounts for shipping considering what is being sent out 3) Give a little something extra!

And the weather here (at least in Berlin), is still chilly and cold, I don't know about you, but I could really use a pick-me-up!

I've been checking out all the different European post office websites, and it looks like most countries have a fairly decent shipping price up to 350 g.

So this is what we're going to do!

You will have one partner and you will send that partner a selection of 10 hot drinks. Please try to send a variety of drinks, for example:

  1. Teas - in individually wrapped packets or bagged (if you send bagged teas, make sure these are in a separate plastic bag or wrapped with cellophane to protect them)

  2. Hot drink packets

  3. Hot chocolate

  4. Coffee mixes

Regarding the "warm fuzzies" to be enclosed, that is up to you! Try to get in as much as you can (up to 350 g) and enclose nice things to make their day when they receive it. You can check out your partner's profile to get some ideas. Only new or unused / new quality items! You should not have to do a major shopping spree or spend a lot of money for this swap! Just send new items that you already have or when you go on your next shopping trip, pick up some goodies.

Try to make this special for your partner, something that would put a smile on their face upon receiving it! (just sending a couple extra tea bags does not count!)

Remember, as the Beatles said, "...the love you take is equal to the love you make" :o)

After the close-date of the sign-up, Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll be checking out profiles to ensure that those signing up seem reliable. Partners will be assigned the day after the swap sign-up close date. You must have at least 10 rated swaps (not counting postcard or email swaps). I reserve the right to ban participants who do not seem reliable or are suspicious. If you have been rated a 1 or a 3 for a swap, please write me before joining to clarify the situation.

Have fun!

Oh yeah, one last thing, please no super picky swappers who are extremely particular about what they receive, this should be an easy swap, thanks!

Ugh....again with the ten swap limmit. How am I supposed to GET my ten in when all the ones I am interested in have this limit. Pretty frustrating......................:(

annan 03/27/2009 #

We have standard rate green padded bags in sweden, in which we can mail anything. The cost for a small bag will be about 6 dollars or 4 euro.

Kyrian 03/27/2009 #

This is such a great idea! I hope this swap goes well for you. I'd participate...but I'm a newbie and in the US

synchrodoll 03/27/2009 #

Hi etherealgirl, you can join if you like, I checked out your profile and you look like a good swapper. :o)

synchrodoll 03/27/2009 #

Hi annan, how much weight can you send for 4 euro? That sounds pretty good. In Germany, it's still pretty reasonable to send up to 500 g anywhere in Europe for 3 euro. But I was checking out the post from other countries, for example, Belgium and they look pretty expensive after 350 g.

synchrodoll 03/27/2009 #

Hi Kyrian, after I see how this swap goes, I think I would like to figure out an international one :o) Thanks for your interest! Check out my other swap that is international and Newbie friendly! :o)

Sharila 03/27/2009 #

Synchrodoll, thank you for inviting me, this swap sounds real nice, however I dont know what fuzzies are!

synchrodoll 03/27/2009 #

Ahhh...I should have explained :o)...it's just an expression, "warm fuzzies"...it means when someone is nice to you, you get a "warm fuzzy feeling". Sort of like, when you receive kindness from someone, it's like the warm sun or a comfortable feeling. :o)

synchrodoll 03/27/2009 #

So...by sending some extra nice things to your swap partner along with the tea, it will hopefully make their day better!

evitake 03/28/2009 #

synchrodoll 03/28/2009 #

Hi evitake, thanks for checking it out, I'm sure that if you join, you can work something out with your swap partner :o)

Sharila 03/28/2009 #

Okay I have been out shopping drinks and tea and combined with what I already have in the house, I am ready for this swap!!

I dont drink coffee though so please dont send too much coffee, but if I do get some, I will have something to offer guests.

vanessalouise 03/31/2009 #

hi i also don't drink tea so please can you not send me any but coffee and hot choc is fine

kacka 03/31/2009 #

I would love variety of individually bagged tea, also some hot chocolate, coffee just no low fat one:)

synchrodoll 04/ 1/2009 #

Comment to those who have specific preferences....tea costs a lot less than coffeee / hot chocolate packets. If you are going to ask for just coffee & hot choc, then the majority of what you send your partner, should be that.

Sharila 04/16/2009 #

Synchrodoll: Yeah I hear ya. I am a bit disappointed in this swap as I thought it would be for a variety of hot drinks. My partner didnt want any tea, and since hot chokolate and coffee packages are much heaver than tea, and I had to send at least 10 + a surprise my package ended up on 400 gram and I had to pay 15 Euro to send it:( Much much more than what I had expected for this swap. It made my swap budget to hit the rocks for this month:( I really hope my partner will appriciate what I send her though!

synchrodoll 04/22/2009 #

Hi Sharila, I sent you a message. I think the next time I host a swap like this, I will have more strict requirements...because certain hot drinks such as coffee / hot cocoa are not only more expensive than tea...they are also heavier. Another thing though, for any swappers who might be reading this, please also communicate with your partner and let me your coordinator know too if it is somehow not working out with what was originally planned to be sent and discuss how an adjustment can be made. I host European swaps so that we don't have to spend so much money on postage, so situations like this shouldn't be happening.
