Description:

This swap is for the little furries in your life :) I currently have 3 Syrian hamsters, I love hammies and would have more if I could! You can see them in my profile.

So this swap requires you to send small animal treats to your partner. By small animals, I mean rabbits or smaller, like rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats mice etc. A lot of treats for small animals are suitable for all, so you should be able to find something to send to your partner.

Please say which species of animal you would like to receive for, but try not to be too fussy over likes/dislikes, as sometimes there isn't a lot on offer!

You should spend at least $3 (before shipping) on treats, so probably a packet or two. Of course you may spend/send more for a heart.

You will have 2 weeks to sign up, then one week to send out your treats. NO NEWBIES OR ONES (unless there's a good reason for your one, mail it to me please). PLEASE NO FLAKERS. IF YOU CAN'T TAKE PART, DON'T JOIN UP, SIMPLE!

None of my hamsters are fussy. They will all put any treats in their pouches!

Well sorry I have 2 guinea pigs. Do turtles count? I have a turtle. Hee hee. She only likes crickets meal worms and bananas. Maybe next time. My cats would eat the little ones.

please be careful with these international swaps. Meat products are prohibited entry into many countries and your swap packages may not make it to their destinations intact or at all. Australia and the US are extremely strict because of potential animal diseases. And just to let you know, the US prohibits ALL PET FOODS/TREATS unless a permit accompanies the shipment.

I work for Customs and Border Protection and have seized and destroyed many prohibited items from mail parcels. maybe you have gotten lucky with not having been intercepted, but i just wanted to let you know that it is ILLEGAL and that you are taking a chance that maybe your package will not make it to it's destination. the regulations are because of fear of diseases like "mad cow," "foot and mouth disease," and "bird flu." the pet food industry doesn't have the same sanitary regulations that human food does, so even if it only contains fish the equipment may still be contaminated with pork/beef/chicken. the risk is minimal for people that live in the city compared to somebody that lives on a farm, but there still is a risk. if you have any more questions please feel free to contact me via PM. thanks!

hippofairy - I have sent and recieved many pet swaps from another forum in the last two years, never needed a permit, never had anything taken out or destroyed.

hmm... well, your risk, not mine! i'm just letting you know that it is illegal here, and i would hate to be your partner that doesn't receive the package.

personally I'm going to go with the customs officer says...it's their job, they know what they're talking about..
