Thanks to @2bneat for hosting this swap last year. October is coming and Canada Post will be offering FREE shipping on Tuesdays to anywhere in Canada (that's Oct 4, 11, 18 & 25). Sign up for their Solutions for Small Businesses and use their promotion to share your stash with another Canadian. Here's a place with some questions answered - scroll down a bit. You can use a 12 x 12" box (or it's equivalent) that weighs up to 5 kg - start now! The first free shipping date is October 4 (though you have up to 5 days to print the label and send it), so I'll have the send-by date a few days after that. I shouldn't have to say this, but PLEASE only send good things to your partner. Things that are in great condition only. No little things (envelopes, stickers, postage stamps, etc), unless your partner specifically says that they like things like that. If you want to send handmade envelopes make them big enough to send postcards in. If you send stickers, don't send sheets that have some of them missing. They should be complete. Don't send scrapbooking paper. Although, maybe your partner needs some; not everybody has 5000 sheets of paper, lol. If you send Copics, or other pens, check to make sure they have lots of juice in them; same for inks. Or send the refills for them, too! No magazines, unless you ask, or they're on your partners profile. In fact, go to your profile and make a list of likes! It'd be helpful; even though most of the items will be gathered before partners are assigned, the last minute items will be picked with your partners likes in mind. Kind of a quick sign up, to give you plenty of time to purge your craft room. To recap: fill your box with things from your stash that are in good condition and useable. Have fun! |
