AtB Future Penpals? Questionnaire

Hi everyone!

I thought I'd make up some creative questions for a getting-to-know-you sort of swap. This is like a fast-track to learning more about some cool people you may or may not want to chat with more. Think of it as a companion to your partners' Swap-bot profiles.

Note that there is NO obligation to follow up with the partners who send to you--please only treat this as an opportunity to make new friends/penpals, not a required task.

I would recommend you copy/paste the following questions and type out your answers, especially because you'll have three partners. Who wants to figure out how much space you'll need ahead of time or photocopy handwritten answers, right?

Once you're done, print your answers and send the letter off to your partners.

So: 3 partners, 14 questions (please answer them all), no requirement for the length. Longer will help you connect better, though! :)

In the event that you are assigned to a group member(s) you already know well, please still complete the survey. I've attempted to ask questions that don't come up as often on profiles and such.

And as usual, extras are not required but always a welcome bonus. So here are the questions:

1. Why do you swap on Swap-bot?

2. What are some of your favorite types of swaps to participate in?

3. How tall are you?

4. Do you usually wear glasses, contacts, or neither?

5. When it comes to tradition, are you more likely to stick to the original, or forge your own traditions? You can consider this in the context of holidays, lifestyle, etc.

6. Are/were your parents good people, broadly speaking? Describe them.

7. Describe three or more of your greatest strengths and worst flaws.

8. What kind of kid were you in high school? Did you identify with any stereotypes (nerd, jock, misfit, theatre kid…)?

9. How well do you sleep at night?

10. Any tattoos/piercings? Are you planning to get some (or more)? Describe your most meaningful or favorite tattoo(s), if applicable.

11. Personality type info dump: list and describe your MBTI and enneagram types and astrological sign (if known). Include any other tests/types as desired.

12. Do you feel like you know what your purpose in life is? What is it?

13. What kind of correspondence are you most interested in? (E.g., private swaps, PMing on Swap-bot, email, traditional handwritten letters, etc.)

14. Anything else that’s important for you to bring up? (E.g., do you belong to any underrepresented minority you want to address because your penpal(s) should be sensitive to your differences? Is there anything you couldn’t tolerate in a partner, like a certain political affiliation or racism/homophobia/transphobia/etc?)
