Description:

A great way to come up with swaps is to roam around your archived swaps. If you’ve been on swap-bot for years, chances are you have been in and/or hosted a lot of swaps! Below is one I’ve hosted over the years.

Let's make some easy washi tape cards! Grab a few rolls of tape or some of the samples you've received lately and lay some strips side by side on a piece of card stock (or use cut up manila folders). In my example above, I put them diagonally and then added a stamped "hello" saying in the corner. As not all washi tape is not created equal, I like to fold the edges around to the back so they'll stay down. When you have put as many strips as you want on the card, adhere it to a folded card.

Feel free to use a similar design or come up with one of your own. Adding a stamped greeting is optional.

Fine Details

  • 1 partner. Inside the card, please write at least one thing you plan to try to do in this new year.
  • Decorate your envelope with washi tape (on the front; use several different colors).
  • Include 4 twelve-inch strips of washi tape samples for your partner to play with.
  • Sender's choice on colors (so we can all begin creating now if we want to).

Once you make a simple washi card, you may be inspired to create more and use them for pen pal cards, swap cards, etc.

Have fun! :)
